Fernando Coppola has been appointed as Executive Chef at AC Hotel by Marriott Greenville Downtown

Auro Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Fernando Coppola as executive chef of AC Hotel by Marriott Greenville Downtown, a new hotel located in Greenville, SC that will boast luxurious accommodations, unique amenities and numero us dining opportunities when it opens early 2021. As executive chef of AC Hotel Greenville Downtown, Chef Coppola is responsible for overseeing the culinary direction for seven restaurants located at the hotel, each one presenting a distinct dining experience unlike any other to the Upstate. Located at the hotel will be Juniper, The Secret Garden, Fire Box, The Press Room, Paloma, Social Burger and AC Kitchen. In his role he will also lead the catering and banquet services for the hotel's nearly 10,000 square feet of dedicated space for meetings and events.Chef Coppola boasts extensive knowledge of the culinary an d hospitality industry and he brings more than twenty years of experience from some of the most esteemed kitchens all over the world, including those in Qatar, Puerto Rico and Uruguay, as well as his home country of Argentina. His passion for cooking developed as a child when spending time with his grandparents. Together they would make breads, pizzas, pastas, paellas, and other specialty dishes from scratch and inspired by their native countries of Spain and Italy.With a strong belief that the best dishes start with great ingredients, specifically organic and local produce, his own cuisine gravitates toward highlighting simple and unadulterated flavors.A graduate of Alicia Berger Cooking School with a certificate in culinary arts, he trained under Maurice Lacharme and Alicia Berger, members of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Académie Culinaire de France and former Bocuse d'Or jury members, and credits his signature cooking style to the fundamentals he developed under their tutelage. Chef Coppola has developed expertise in Spanish, Italian, French, South American and Modern Fusion cuisines, and he comes to AC Hotel Greenville Downtown from W Chicago City Center, where he served as executive chef and director of beverage and food. He has also served as executive chef at W Retreat & Spa - Vieques Island and as chef de cuisine at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel in Qatar. His vast culinary career additionally includes leadership roles at restaurants in Buenos Aires and Uruguay among other international destinations.

Tanner Marino has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hotel Hartness

Hotel Hartness, a new hotel managed by Hay Creek Hotels and opening in Greenville, SC in early 2022, has appointed Tanner Marino as Executive Chef.As Executive Chef, Marino will be responsible for overseeing Patterson, the fine dining restaurant located in the forthcoming Hotel Hartness, as well as for the hotel's banquet catering. Marino lived in the south for most of his life and grew up in an Italian family where the tradition of coming together over a homecooked meal was constant. After finding himself gravitating towards the kitchen in his teens, Marino enrolled in culinary school before moving to Greenville, SC where he began his career at Devereaux's. Under the tutelage of Devereaux's Steven Greene and Spencer Thomson, he worked his way up to Chef de Cuisine of the acclaimed restaurant. Marino continued his career at Hyatt Regency in Greenville and The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, North Carolina. He comes to Hotel Hartness from the Westin Chattanooga where he served as Executive Chef.

Tim fell in love with working behind a busy kitchen at the age of 16. As a native Minnesotan who has called Charleston his home for the past five years, he has developed an appreciation for hospitality, creating special moments for guests in an atmosphere that will make you feel at home.Tim earned his 20-year skillset by working with Forbes Five Star rated hotels and restaurants. Most recently, he led the opening of Mercantile and Mash in Charleston as executive chef. Before the Lowcountry, he was the executive sous chef at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Raleigh under the leadership of Steven Greene and previously Scott Crawford. Prior to that, he spent time as chef tournant of Chicago's famed Alinea restaurant. His dynamic background being mentored by some of the most notable chefs has shaped his vision as he steps into his role with Emeline.As the Executive Chef at Emeline, Tim will demonstrate his belief in the art of seasonal cooking, highlighting regional Charleston ingredients into Emeline's restaurant and bar program.He is a graduate of the College of Coastal Georgia where he was accredited by the American Culinary Federation through its Culinary Apprentice Program at Sea Island Resort.
