Pieter Van Der Hoeven has been appointed as area general manager for Vietnam at Minor Hotels International

Minor Hotels has appointed Pieter van der Hoeven as area general manager for Vietnam. Based out of Anantara Hoi An Resort & Spa, van der Hoeven will oversee operational and sales functions across all Minor Hotels brands in Vietnam. He will report to Thomas Meier, senior vice president, hotel operations, Asia. Prior to joining Minor Hotels, the seasoned Australian hotelier has been with Outrigger since 2008 in various leadership positions across Asia-Pacific, except for between July 2013 and December 2014 when he was general manager with Raffles Hotels in Cambodia. His other previous experience includes senior roles with Anantara Hua Hin Resort and Evason Hua Hin Resort, Evason Ana Mandara in Vietnam as well as The Peninsula Bangkok.

Vietnam’s first dine-‘n’-slide hotel begins construction

Vietnam"s first hotel to use tubular slides to carry guests between floors, Fusion Suite Vung Tau, has started construction on June 1, 2017. Designed for the modern traveller, Fusion Suites Vung Tau will provide a range of 171 unique and well-appointed suites and apartments, perfect for young families, couples, or groups of friends. Michael Murphy has been appointed general manager at Evason Ana Mandara in Nha Trang, Vietnam. No stranger to Six Senses, Murphy was the pre-opening general manager at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in China from July 2104 to October 2015. Following that, he was general manager of Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang in Vietnam. A Canadian national, he brings over 30 years of experience across international and independent hotels and groups with roles that include key operational positions with Sheraton in Shanghai and Tianjin, Hilton in Hong Kong and Tokyo, Lyford Cay Club in Nassau, Bahamas, Fuchun Resort Hangzhou, Cape Sol Phuket and COO at the Landison Tourism Group Hangzhou.
