Fabio Petrone has been appointed as Food & Beverage Manager at Rosewood Little Dix Bay

Petrone comes to Rosewood Little Dix Bay in its 50th Anniversary year, following 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. A seasoned restaurant management professional, Petrone has led culinary operations for several well-known hotels in the Caribbean and Middle East. Most recently, he served as director of food & beverage at the CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa in Anguilla, where he opened two of the resort’s signature restaurants. Previously, Petrone was director of restaurants for the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Istanbul, Turkey and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt before becoming assistant director of food & beverage at Mardan Palace in Antalya, Turkey.

Maheesha 'M' Ratnayake has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina (Autograph Collection®)

The Sri Lankan-born Ratnayake will lead the food and beverage team and direct overall operations at the resort’s three restaurants: the eclectic Caravela, featuring the most authentic theme nights spanning the world; Tierra! Tierra!, a relaxed, open-air restaurant overlooking the pool with endless ocean views; and One Shoe Beach Bar & Grill located on the island’s secluded North Beach. With more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality arena, ‘M’ has held positions at world class operations in the US, Arabian Gulf and Caribbean. Prior to joining the team at Scrub Island Resort, Ratnayake co-led opening food and beverage venues for a number of celebrity restaurateurs including Garry Rhodes, Mark Fuller and Richard Sandoval. He was also food and beverage director at Sandals Montego Bay Beach Resort & Spa and Beaches Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club in Jamaica, group food and beverage manager at Al Barari Dubai and assistant food and beverage manager at the Grosvenor House Dubai. ‘M’ has been known to delve into passion projects like leading the opening of ‘The Farm Dubai’ where Dubai’s first interactive iPad menus, carbon neutral facility design and ethical product sourcing became hot trends.

Angus Pitkethley has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Rosewood Little Dix Bay

Pitkethley has more than 15 years of experience in global hotel sales and marketing. Prior to joining Rosewood Little Dix Bay, he held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for several international hotels, including Marriott Hotels of Brussels, Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill and Sydney Harbour Marriott. Throughout his career, he has won several hospitality awards, including Manager of the Year and Marriott International’s Leadership Special Achievement Award for Sales Leaders in Western Europe. Pitkethley holds an Associate Diploma in Hospitality Management from William Blue Hotel Management School in Sydney, Australia. An avid travel and food enthusiast, Pitkethley is excited to explore yet another part of the globe. He currently resides in New York, New York.

Scott Ward has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina

Ward was director of sales and marketing for Scrub Island Resort prior to its opening in 2010, during which time he secured more than $2.9 million in pre-opening incentive sales and pre-booked 2,800 room nights. Most recently, Ward served as regional director of sales for RockResorts, where he oversaw wedding and leisure sales for their warm weather collection, including resorts in Costa Rica, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Miami and St. Lucia.

Carlos Hannon has been named Executive Chef at Rosewood Little Dix Bay

A veteran of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Chef Hannon was most recently Executive Chef at Rosewood San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Previously, he served as Executive Sous Chef at Rosewood Mayakoba in Riviera Maya. At Rosewood Little Dix Bay, he will oversee the property’s three acclaimed dining establishments, including Sugar Mill, Pavilion and Beach Grill, where he will lead culinary efforts with his expertise in revolutionary cooking techniques and his passion for organic and fresh ingredients. Since he began his tenure at Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Chef Hannon has designed new menus at all three restaurants to embrace Rosewood’s signature A Sense of Place® philosophy. The new menus showcase the culinary bounty of Virgin Gorda, using ingredients like fresh lobster caught by local fisherman and produce grown at nearby farms, to infuse his foods with vibrant tropical flavors and create a more authentically Caribbean dining experience.

Duncan Hogarth has been appointed as Managing Director at Rosewood Little Dix Bay

With more than 20 years of experience at luxury hotel and resort properties around the world, Hogarth oversees all operations with a passion for hospitality that has marked his career. Known in the industry for his dedication to flawless service, Hogarth stepped into the role of Managing Director after serving as Resort Manager at the 500-acre property. His focus was immediately clear. "My priority is to ensure we operate the resort at the high level of standards that will continue to earn us numerous awards," he says, noting that Rosewood Little Dix Bay was recently named the World's #1 Beach Resort by Harper's Hideaway Report. "That was a proud achievement through the hard work and dedication of the entire team." Prior to joining Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Hogarth spent over 14 years with Orient Express Hotels and gained invaluable experience with hotel openings including The Datai, Langkawi. His previous work included La Samanna on St. Martin, where Hogarth was Director of Operations. He also worked in operations at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Hogarth got his start in hospitality with the Savoy Group in London, with seven years of tenure during which he developed not only his leadership skills, but also a true passion for service. Hogarth replaces Martein van Wagenberg, who joined Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort in June.

Wilbert Mason has been appointed as General Manager at Peter Island Resort & Spa

Mason was promoted from rooms division manager, a post he held at the resort for more than a year. “His keen insights into guest service customization, his leadership ability and his proven track record at Peter Island made him the ideal candidate,” stated Matthew Kent, managing director. Mason will oversee day-to-day onsite operations and has already formulated a new bespoke guest services program titled Peter Island Touch Point. The goal of the program is to enhance guest experience from arrival to departure. Peter Island is known to have impeccable guest services with a staff to guest ratio of 3:1, and this new program will ultimately elevate Peter Island’s reputation from impeccable to untouchable. Mason comes from a long line of five-star resorts: Regent Palms Hotel & Spa, Turks and Caicos; Sandy Lane Hotel & Spa, Barbados; Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada; Palm Island Resort, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as others. All of his previous experiences contributed to Mason’s acute sense of guest services, sharp onsite operations skills, and attention to detail. Mason earned an MBA at Regis University, Denver, Colorado, and B.S. in business management at Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah.

Domingo Velasco has been appointed as Director of Marketing at Rosewood Little Dix Bay

Velasco’s return to Rosewood follows a brief stint as Corporate Director of Leisure for Kor Hotel Group. Previously, he was Director of Sales and Marketing for La Samanna, an Orient Express resort on St. Martin in the French West Indies. Velasco’s career in hotel Sales and Marketing got rolling as Associate Director of Sales for Rosewood Caribbean Resorts, and he later held the same position at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York City, following several years in hotel operations. A native of Spain, Velasco holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and is fluent in six languages: Spanish, German, English, French, Portuguese and Italian.
