Ivan Puente has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar

As the newly appointed Dual Director of Food & Beverage, Ivan Puente will oversee all aspects of the hotel's food and beverage planning and services, including menu development, and the preparation and presentation of food and drinks. Most recently Puente served as Senior Food and Beverage Manager for Terrace Restaurant and The Rooftop at Exchange Place in Jersey City, New Jersey, where, as part of the leadership team, he was responsible for all food and beverage operations for the prestigious neighborhood two level rooftop venue. Puente has a wealth of hospitality experience, including the Sambuca Restaurant and Lawless Spirits and Kitchen in Houston, Texas, under Expert Restaurant Management Group. Puente attended Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a Political Science and Pre-Law Studies degree.

Stephanie Bisogne has been appointed as Executive Chef at Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar

Executive Chef Stephanie Bisogne will direct daily culinary operations at Sal Y Mar, the hotel's signature rooftop bar. Bisogne has been an Executive Chef for Concord Hospitality for four years, most recently at Embassy Suites Charlotte Uptown. Prior to that, she was a Sous Chef for Marriott International. Bisogne attended Johnson & Wales for her Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Food and Beverage Management. She also completed a hotel hospitality study abroad program in Sarria, Spain, and traveled to several European countries while abroad. Bisogne and her family have relocated to Tampa Bay and look forward to finding and exploring several new hiking locations in Florida.

The Marker Key West Harbor Resort Unveils Renovation

The Marker Key West Harbor Resort is proud to unveil a $3 million renovation of the modern, waterfront property, including its new Residence One & Two Bedroom Suites with spacious open-air balconies, located in the intimate and private residence, Harbor House, a secluded tropical escape of suites located on the ground floor and second floor, tucked away inside the Old Town resort along the sparkling Key West Harbor. The property has enforced a multi-pronged approach to health and wellbeing, providing guests with peace of mind while traveling to Key West, with intensive AHLA Safe Stay program cleaning standards.

The Tampa EDITION opens Winter 2021

Planned to open in winter 2021, The Tampa EDITION will become the fifth US property from EDITION Hotels. Situated within the new 56-acre Water Street Tampa neighborhood, the hotel will be home to 172 guestrooms and suites and six F&B outlets, including a signature restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace. The property will also feature a 204sqm Penthouse Suite, expansive spa, fitness center and over 550sqm of flexible meeting and events space. Bringing some of the world's best talents together into one project, the property will be designed by acclaimed New York-based architecture practice Morris Adjmi in collaboration with Florida-based firm Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates; with interiors designed by the renowned Roman & Williams, the whole project will be underpinned by the creative vision of Ian Schrager and Ian Schrager Company. The hotel is situated within immediate proximity to the best that Tampa has to offer in terms of cultural institutions, entertainment, recreational, dining and shopping options.

TradeWinds Island Resorts Completes $15 Million Renovation to Meeting Space and Guest Rooms

In addition to a recent round of guest room renovations, TradeWinds Island Resorts has just completed a $2.2 million total redesign of all indoor meeting spaces and common areas. Inspired by the resort's ideal setting on Florida's award-winning gulf coast, the 50,000 square feet of updated space includes the Grand Palm Colonnade lobby area, all meeting rooms, and the Pavilion at the TradeWinds Island Grand property. New carpeting, furniture, lighting and fresh paint has transformed the spaces with vibrant blues, metallic accents and nautical details, creating the perfect ambiance for attendees ready to navigate an unforgettable meeting and event experience. Throughout the lobby area, dark mahogany-colored furniture and crisp, cream-colored chairs create a soothing space for gathering among the signature 20-foot palms. The chairs in all meeting spaces have been updated with sophisticated deep blue upholstery with classic gold frames.

Arsen Khodosov has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House

Arsen Khodosov, Director of Sales and Marketing, brings over 10 years in the hospitality industry to Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Tampa. Prior to joining HRI Lodging, he served as Task Force Director of Sales with Crescent Hotels & Resorts, working with brands such as Hilton, Marriott and IHG. His previously held positions include Regional Director of Sales and Marketing with Chesapeake Hospitality, Director of Sales and Marketing with Westmont Hospitality Group, and leadership roles with McKibbon Hotel Management. Khodosov graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Patrick J. Sorge has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House

Patrick Sorge, General Manager, joins HRI Lodging from Hyatt Hotels Corporation where he most recently served as Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Regional Director of Field Marketing, Northeast/Mid-Atlantic for a combined 12 years. Previously, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing at several Hyatt branded properties including the Hyatt Regency Boston, Hyatt Regency Cambridge, Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport, and Hyatt Regency Buffalo. Sorge brings extensive experience creating opening, sales, marketing and revenue strategies and collaborating with owners, franchisee management companies and internal stakeholders to Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Tampa. Sorge is a graduate of Niagra University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration.

Bodgan Moisa has been appointed as Director of Hotel Rooms Operation at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

Bodgan's hospitality journey has included successful stints at such esteemed properties as JW Marriott Marquis Miami, Philadelphia Marriott West Marriott, and most recently, Tampa Marriott Water Street. In his new role, he will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services, valet services, concierge and uniformed services, housekeeping, laundry, and communications in a courteous and effective manner.

Richard Trinidad has been appointed as Director of Spa at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

With more than 24 years of experience within the spa and wellness field, Richard will oversee the Spa by JW®'s offerings, allowing guests to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Originally from Puerto Rico, Richard previously held multiple positions at other Marriott properties, including the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico and the Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club.

Ryan Burns has been appointed as Director of Restaurants at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

A seasoned culinary and hospitality professional, Ryan's expanded knowledge of restaurant management has allowed him to serve at such esteemed properties in Central Florida as Gaylord Palms and Omni ChampionsGate Resort. Prior to joining the team at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Ryan's restaurant operations expertise led to the re-conception of Tampa Marriott Water Street's newest restaurants, Garrison Tavern and Anchor and Brine.

Brittany Matthews has been appointed as Director of Sales at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

Brittany's 19-year Marriott sales career has spanned seven unique Marriott brands across six major cities including Chicago, San Antonio and Nashville. As Director of Sales at both Tampa Marriott Water Street and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, she will be leading the group, catering and city-wide sales efforts for the hotels, and is passionate about selling Tampa and Water Street as a distinct and vibrant destination.

Christopher Adkins has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

A long-time resident of Florida's Gulf Coast, Chris has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry — and over 20 with Marriott International, including leadership positions at Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance and Marriot brand hotels. In his role, he will lead the overall sales efforts, as well as create and execute a marketing plan that lays the foundation for the hotel's success.

Ron McAnaugh has been appointed as Area General Manager at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and Tampa Marriott Water Street

A Marriott veteran of more than 30 years, McAnaugh comes to the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street with a wealth of hospitality experience. Prior to his role as Area General Manager at sister property Tampa Marriott Water Street, Ron served as Hotel Manager for Orlando World Center Marriott, Marriott's largest hotel. In addition to his Marriott responsibilities, McAnaugh just wrapped his term as Chairman of Visit Tampa Bay, and is now President of the Hillsborough County Hotel & Motel Association (HCHMA) and on the board for Tampa's Friends of the Riverwalk organization.

Reynaldo Ramirez has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hilton Aventura Miami

A Florida native, Ramirez brings 24 years of well-rounded, South Florida sales industry knowledge to Hilton Aventura Miami, having held various management positions at a variety of high-profile hotel brands, including Hilton, Marriott, Wyndham, InterContinental Hotel Group and more. Throughout his career he has worked with Fiesta Americana Hotels & Resorts, Victor Hotels, and a variety of resorts managed by Interval International, where he was responsible for developing sales, marketing and revenue strategies to reach specific revenue goals year over year. Most recently, Ramirez served as complex director of sales and marketing at AC Marriott Aventura and Aloft Miami Aventura. As part of the opening team for Aloft Aventura, Ramirez has first-hand experience with spearheading hotel openings in the Aventura market. At Hilton Aventura Miami, Ramirez will be responsible for overseeing sales and marketing, developing strategies for revenue growth, managing a team of sales associates, and working with marketing teams to ensure consistent media messaging and social communication strategy.
