IHG Opens Its First Holiday Inn Express® Hotel in Panama City

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) today announced the newest addition to its Latin America portfolio with the opening of the 196-room Holiday Inn Express® Panama Distrito Financiero hotel located in Panama City, Panama The new-build hotel is a franchise agreement that is owned by Latin American Hospitality Group, and is the first Holiday Inn Express in the city. This regional corporation operated by Grupo AGRISAL has other IHG branded properties located in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and recently broke ground in Honduras and Nicaragua.

Marriott International and FibraHotel Announce Affiliation and Aggressive Growth Plans in Mexico by Introducing Six Hotels to the Mexican Market

Marriott International (NASDAQ: MAR) announced plans to operate 20 hotels expected to be developed by FibraHotel, the largest and first publicly traded Mexican lodging REIT (BMV: FIHO12), across key Mexican cities by 2016. The first six hotels, whose development contracts were signed this week, will add approximately 800 rooms to the Mexican market and create well over 400 jobs for Mexican nationals.

Hyatt Announces a Third Hyatt-Branded Hotel in Colombia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Fideicomiso FAFP-Promover-Hotel Cali- Fiduciaria del País S.A. for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. IHG Expands the Holiday Inn® Brand in Peru

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), continues to increase the Holiday Inn® brand’s footprint in Latin America with the signing of the new-build Holiday Inn Lima Airport hotel. The $24 million hotel will be located adjacent to the city’s Jorge Chavez International Airport, and is being developed by the Pinasco family, who will also manage the hotel under the Operaciones Turisticas Peruanas S.A.C. entity. The organization has been working with IHG for many years and also owns and manages the Crowne Plaza® Lima hotel.

Hyatt to Debut All-Inclusive Brands in Mexico in Q4 2013

Hyatt Hotels Corporation today announced the first two Hyatt-branded all-inclusive resorts, currently THE ROYAL Cancún and Barceló Los Cabos, will be rebranded as Hyatt Zilara Cancún and Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos in Q4 2013.
