Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Colonia Roma in Mexico City. Owned and managed by Sora Group, the new hotel is the third in Mexico for the fast-growing Four Points brand, which now includes more than 160 hotels around the world. Twenty-three Four Points hotels are slated to open in 2012 alone, giving it the second largest pipeline among all Starwood brands.

Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company with over 7,150 hotels today announced an agreement with Hoteles Costa del Sol to franchise three new Ramada Hotels in Peru, thereby expanding the brand’s presence in the South American country to four locations. Nearly 30 years after the opening of the first Hyatt hotel in Mexico, Hyatt Hotels Corporation(NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate intends to acquire the 756-room Hotel Nikko Mexico for approximately US$190 million from Japan-Mexico Hotel Investment Co., Ltd. The transaction is scheduled to close in May and, upon closing, the hotel will be rebranded as Hyatt Regency Mexico City. Marriott International"s (NYSE:MAR) signature brand, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, announced today plans to open a new 170-room Marriott Hotel in Cali in 2014, under an agreement with Real Hotels and Resorts, S.A. and Grupo Poma.

The new properties, scheduled to open in 2014, will add 450 rooms to IHG's existing portfolio in Colombia, which currently includes eight hotels and 1,910 rooms. The new hotels will also complement IHG's four existing Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties in the country.
The agreement calls for 3,000 guest rooms to be developed in the country through 2014. Currently, six deals have been finalized to open Super 8 hotels in Congonhas do Campo, Sete Lagoas, Betim, Lagoa Santa and Pouso Alegre with additional agreements anticipated to be executed this year.
