Cornell International Summit In Shanghai Announces Distinguished Panelists

Distinguished Cornell faculty will join alumni and other industry leaders at the Cornell International Summit: Hospitality, Real Estate, and the Built Environment to discuss innovation and growth in China's hospitality and commercial real estate markets. The summit will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund and is co-presented by the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, and Center for Real Estate and Finance.

PolyU Study Finds Climate Key to Improving Tourism Demand Forecasts

Understanding how climate influences tourists' decisions about when and where to travel can help to predict travel demand for a particular destination, according to the Dr Carey Goh of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Although much is already known about how economic factors affect such demand, Dr Goh suggests that a complete understanding is impossible without considering the effects of social and psychological factors. Being able to predict when and why people are most likely to travel would help planners and policymakers to develop and market their services more effectively.

IHG (InterContinental Hotel Groups) is the first hotel company in Australia to build an electric car charge network, connecting eight properties across the group with cutting-edge technology for a new and growing customer segment.
