PolyU Tripartite Hospitality Programme Celebrates 10 Years of Excellence

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the tripartite Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business (MGH) programme, three international leaders of hospitality and tourism education – the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), EHL Hospitality Business School (EHL) in Switzerland, and the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston (UH), USA – have come together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to ensure the continuation of this innovative educational strategy.

Destinations International (DI), the world’s leading association representing destination organizations and convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs), today issued an industry brief, “Addressing Workforce Diversification and Retention in the Travel Industry.” The brief highlights the importance of diverse talent attraction and succession planning in the industry and outlines commitments to accelerate progress. Women are Well Represented in the Business Travel Industry but Glass Ceiling Remains

Women professionals are prominent throughout the business travel industry, but GBTA research suggests there are still gaps in gender equity as they are still less likely to be in senior executive positions than men. When it comes to women as business travelers, they highly value traveling for work to achieve their goals. Although they travel less frequently for work than men, women continue to take advantage of opportunities to blend business and leisure travel when they do travel, and also report prioritizing business travel for training and seminars.
