Angela Brown has been appointed as Chef de Cuisine at Park Society Sofitel So Bangkok

Sofitel So Bangkok is proud to announce the appointment of Chef Angela Brown as the new chef de cuisine at the hotel's signature Park Society restaurant. Park Society is Chef Angela's third Sofitel posting in six years with the group; this latest appointment was immediately preceded by a stint in Sofitel St. James in London, where she was the sous chef at the hotel's Brasserie Roux, and on the opening team of The Balcon. Prior to that, she was junior sous chef at the multi-award-winning fine dining restaurant Room 81 at Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach in Australia.

Wanida Tardivel has been appointed as General Manager at Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit Thonglor

Most recently, Tardivel was managing director and general manager of Luxury Society Asia, a web portal aimed at promoting and strengthening business relationships among sophisticated and affluent professionals in Asia, through their mutual interest in all things luxurious. Her hospitality experience also includes leadership positions with hotel companies such as Anantara Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, V Villas Hua Hin and VIE Hotel Bangkok. Tardivel will report to Michael Price, Oakwood director of operations for South and Southeast Asia. With extensive experience in marketing, public relations, business development and operations for five-star hotels, Tardivel will be responsible for daily property operations to achieve optimum performance in guest satisfaction, profitability and efficiency.

Yves Mudry has been appointed as General Manager at Sofitel So Bangkok

Immediately after graduating from the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne, Yves moved to Southeast Asia in 1997. To date, he has accrued more than 16 years of hospitality experience with Le Méridien hotels in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, 10 of which were in a General Manager capacity. His most recent posting in Asia was at Le Méridien Saigon as pre-opening General Manager.

Caroline Cheah has joined Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok as Hotel Manager

SHANGRI-LA Hotel, Bangkok has appointed Caroline Cheah as hotel manager. She was most recently group director of rooms at Shangri-La International Hotel Management. A Singaporean national, Cheah has been working with the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for almost 20 years, including roles as director of rooms and executive assistant manager at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong; executive assistant manager and resident manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing; and hotel manager at Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai. Before joining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Cheah had more than eight years of hospitality experience at a leading hotel chain in Singapore.

Vincent Hoogewijs has been appointed as Regional VP and General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

Adam Zilber has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

After completing the corporate management t rainee programme, Mr. Zilber was appointed to assistant front office manager , followed by assistant executive housekeeper at the same hotel to strengthen his fundamental skills and knowledge of Rooms Division in all aspects.

Nick Downing has been appointed as Vice President at Per AQUUM Retreats - Resorts - Residences

Nick was part of the launch team of Per AQUUM from 2003 to 2006 when he served as pre-opening Director of Operations, followed by General Manager of Huvafen Fushi, Maldives. As Vice President of Per AQUUM, Nick is responsible for the overall leadership, direction and vision of the brand. He will also ensure that the core Per AQUUM values of making a difference through signature guest experiences, service and design remain central to the portfolio.Prior to re-joining Per AQUUM, Nick spent the last two years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts as General Manger of W Retreat Koh Samui. Before that he spent four and a half years at Ativa Hospitality Corporation as General Manager of Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap, Cambodia before being promoted to Director of Operations at the company's Corporate Office in Bangkok.

James Wilson has been appointed as General Manager at Dusit Thani Bangkok

Dusit Thani Dubai GM James Wilson will replace general manager of the Dusit Thani Bangkok Alex Willat. Wilson, who joined Dusit International in 2000, pioneered the IIP (Investors In People) standard certification for Dusit Thani Dubai, the only hotel within Dusit International certified by IIP and was the first Dusit hotel to achieve the Silver Earth Check designation under James’ leadership.

Phil Broad has been appointed as Vice President, Food & Beverage, Asia, Middle East and Africa at InterContinental Hotels Group

Newly-appointed Phil Broad, also based in Bangkok, becomes Vice President, Food & Beverage, AMEA, a region where F&B makes up approximately 40 per cent of IHG’s revenue. With both food and beverage being crucial to the guest experience in delivering and differentiating each brand, Broad’s goal will be to drive performance and profitability across its portfolio, as well as to develop the organisation’s existing F&B operators and leaders. He will also oversee concept design and development, an area in which he specialises.

Simon Scoot has been appointed as Vice President of Global Brand Marketing at InterContinental Hotels Group

Having relocated from IHG’s headquarters in Denham, UK, Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for the InterContinental brand, Simon Scoot will now helm the brand out of Asia in Bangkok. Scoot’s relocation ensures he is now as close as possible to the hub of the brand’s growth. Having first joined IHG in 1992 and having had a diverse amount of experience across all functions within the brand’s operations, Scoot will also focus on IHG’s global strategy in the resort segment, whilst steering the InterContinental brand globally out of Asia.

Harald Feurstein has been appointed as General Manager at Conrad Bangkok

With a career that spans across three continents having worked in Europe, Africa and Asia, Feurstein brings with him extensive experience in the global hospitality industry. Feurstein’s experience in Asia includes working in the Philippines, China, Korea, Malaysia, Japan and Vietnam. His previous role was with Hilton Pattaya, a 302-room upscale hotel, as the pre-opening general manager in 2010. Prior to Hilton Pattaya, Feurstein was general manager of Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa, Philippines. In 2008, as director of business development at Hilton Beijing, he was awarded the ‘Best Professional Executive of the Year’ by China Hotel Executive Magazine.
