Ricardo Caló has been named VP Operations for South America at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced two strategic appointments to support the company’s rapidly expanding footprint in Latin America, where the company currently operates 96 hotels in 19 countries, with another 18 properties in the development pipeline. Ricardo Calo has been appointed Vice-President of Operations for South America, a new position created to support this important region for the company. Caló will be a member of Starwood’s Latin America Senior Leadership Team and report to Jorge Giannattasio, Chief of Operations for the region. Calo has held several leadership positions for Starwood in the region over his decade-long career with the company, most recently as Managing Director of Operations for Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Tulio Hochkoeppler has been appointed as General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

The 19-year veteran of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is no stranger to the region: he was the Hotel’s Director of Rooms 12 years ago, and also worked at sister property Four Seasons Resort Carmelo. Most recently, he was General Manager of the award winning Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa.A graduate of the prestigious Cornell University hospitality program in New York state, Hochkoeppler began his Four Seasons career in 1995 in New York City before moving back to his hometown of Los Angeles, California. By 2002, he was part of the team that raised the flag ofFour Seasons in Buenos Aires for the first time as the Hotel was converted from another brand. It was during this time that he became engaged to his now wife Dianna, and they travelled the world together as he took positions in Miami, San Francisco and the Maldives, where he was also responsible for the company’s floating property, Four Seasons Explorer. He succeeds Rebeca Selley-Morales, who lead the team for three years, including a year-long, USD 49 million renovation that included the debut of two new restaurants and bars.
