Jason Waterlow has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Turtle Bay Resort

Oʻahu's newly renovated Turtle Bay Resort has appointed seasoned hospitality and food & beverage leader Jason Waterlow as Director of Food & Beverage at the 1,300-acre oceanfront resort. In his new role, Jason will help strengthen the many food & beverage channels across the property, including the resort's relationship with its onsite Kuilima Farm, to help create a seamless dining experience for visitors throughout the year.

Susan Barnes has been appointed as Director of Incentive Sales at Turtle Bay Resort

Susan Barnes brings nearly 30 years of extensive sales and operations experience to Turtle Bay Resort. Her career started at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where she progressed to Director of Sales, a title she brought to the renowned La Quinta Resort near Palm Springs, CA. Susan became Regional Sales Director at Miraval Resort before starting a 21-year tenure with KSL resorts, where she won the Sales Superstar Award for 18 of those years. As Global Sales Director - Midwest & Incentives for KSL Resorts, Susan was the brand ambassador who led efforts to expand new business opportunities and develop existing partnerships across a portfolio of 24 resorts worldwide. As Director of Incentive Sales at Turtle Bay Resort, Susan will be responsible for soliciting and managing group business in the Midwest and Incentive market while delivering outstanding service.

Rainell Mano has been appointed as Director of Sales & Events at Turtle Bay Resort

Hailing from neighboring island Lana'i, Rainell brings over 20 years of expertise in sales, marketing, and business event management to Turtle Bay Resort with a proven track record of curating unforgettable experiences rooted in the essence of the āina. Her career began in 1999 at the prestigious Starwood Luxury collection of Manele Bay Hotel and the Lodge at Koele before joining the Four Seasons Rebranding Team on Lana'i from 2003-2006. Subsequently, Rainell held management and leadership positions at Sheraton Maui, Fairmont Kea, Four Seasons Wailea, Wailea Beach Resort, Island Knot Weddings, Studio V Events, and most recently, as the General Manager and Managing Director of PRA Business Events, Hawaiʻi's West Region. In 2019, Rainell was the Vice President of membership for Meeting Planner International's Aloha Chapter. Throughout her career, Rainell Mano has immersed herself in diverse branding cultures, destination management companies (DMC), and non-traditional marketing opportunities. As Rainell assumes the role of Director of Sales and Events at Turtle Bay Resort, she brings with her a wealth of hospitality experience, a deep appreciation for Hawaiʻi's rich cultural heritage, and a passion for creating extraordinary guest experiences.

Turtle Bay Resort has named Clayton van Hooijdonk to the position of resort manager for this landmark property situated on Oahu's legendary North Shore. The resort is currently being reimagined and will open on July 1, 2021. A well-rounded hospitality leader with more than 20 years of experience working in luxury hotel properties, van Hooijdonk will oversee the resort's guest-facing operations, including its new restaurants, bars, amenities, and immersive new guest experiences.

Andrew Spinelli has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Turtle Bay Resort, Oahu

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has appointed Andrew Spinelli director of food and beverage for Turtle Bay Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located on Oahu's North Shore. Jerry Gibson, Benchmark's vice president and managing director for the resort, made the announcement. Andrew Spinelli was previously general manager for BLT Steak Waikiki. He also served as a trainer at the corporate level for the BLT Restaurants organization, supporting operations in Seoul, Tokyo, Las Vegas and locations in Hawaii. Prior to this Mr. Spinelli worked with BeOurGuest Restaurants, including the company's Ocean Grill, Ruby Foos, Blue Water Grill and Dos Caminos locations. Mr. Spinelli is a graduate of Fordham University in New York City where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York, where he earned his Associate's degree in the Culinary Arts. He subsequently engaged in a fellowship as Maître d′ instructor's assistant at CIA's Ristorante Caterina de' Medici. He resides in Kahuku, Hawaii

Barrett De Santos has been appointed as Director of Leisure Sales at Turtle Bay Resort

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Barrett De Santos director of leisure sales for the landmark Turtle Bay Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Danna Holck, vice president and general manager, made the announcement. Barrett De Santos brings 35 years of sales experience within the Hawaiian hospitality industry to his new position at Turtle Bay Resort. Previously he served as area director of domestic and international sales for Highgate Hotels Hawaii, a role in which he experienced significant success in contributing to revenue growth for the company. Prior to this, De Santos held the position of senior director of leisure sales for Castle Resorts & Hotels. Mr. De Santos is a graduate of Leeward Community College and Travel Academy. He resides in Honolulu.
