The latest development agreements within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand include plans for Hotel La Compañia in Panama City, Panama, which will be nestled within the heart of Casco Viejo (Spanish for "Old Quarter"), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Expected to open in 2021, the 88-room hotel is set to become the first property in Panama that is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand.

Idu joins this new position from the Marriott Executive Apartments Panama City, Finisterre, where he was served as General Manager for the past four years.A 21-year industry veteran, Idu began his hospitality career at the Westgate Lakes Resorts in Orlando, as Activity Coordinator and held subsequent positions at the Royal Plaza Disney Village and Ma rriott Custom House. In 1999, he relocated back to South America where he held different leadership positions in operations at the Hotel Marriott Plaza, Buenos Aires and other hotel companies. In 2014, he returned to Marriott as Director of Operations of the JW Panama Golf and Beach Resort, achieving outstanding results in associate engagement, house profit and guest satisfaction. His passion and enthusiasm were key factors in the rollout of many brand initiatives, especially his roll a BLT champion.Idu holds a degree in Hotel Business Management Administration by Universidad Anhembi Morumbia, Brazil. In his spare time, he loves to travel experiencing new cultures with his wife Daniela and two daughters and loves practicing different sports. Mauro Barros has been appointed as General Manager at AC Hotel by Marriott Panama City

With a career spanning over 28 years in the hotel industry, Mauro Barros joined Marriott in 2000 as Sales and Events Manager of the Marriott & Renaissance Costa do Sauipe Resorts in North-Eastern Brazil. He held subsequent positions at the JW Marriott Rio de Janeiro as Director of Events. In 2006, Mauro was promoted to Director of Operations at the Santiago Marriott Hotel, Chile. He later transferred to Venezuela as Director of Food & Beverage and Director of Operations of the Marriott P laya Grande, Caracas.In 2013, Mauro returned to Brazil as Director of Operations of the Itaipava Arena Pernambuco, Brazil; The Operating Company of FIFA World Cup Soccer Stadium in Recife. Mauro's most recent position was opening General Manager of the first Marriott Brand in Recife; Courtyard Recife Boa Viagem, Brazil. Under his leadership, the hotel was recognized by Great Place to Work as one of the best companies to work for in Recife. Mauro has an extensive international background leading all aspects of hotel operations. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and he is committed to providing memorable and enriching experiences to the guests of the AC brand in Panama.
