The Kimpton Brice Hote lis pleased to announce the appointment of Xavier Etcheberrigaray to General Manager. In this role, Etcheberrigaray will oversee operations at the 145-room property in the heart of Savannah's National Historic Landmark District, including hiring decisions, guest services, budgets and leading the hotel's high-quality service experience. Etcheberrigaray is a seasoned industry leader who brings international experience to his role at The Kimpton Brice Hotel. He began his career as a barman and food & beverage trainee with InterContinental Hotels in Miami and Atlanta before pursuing an MBA from the prestigious Glion in Montreux, Switzerland. Most recently, Etcheberrigaray was hotel manager of the 433-room Westin Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort, managed by HEI, where he was responsible for driving performance across operating departments, helping enhance the reputation of the hotel's refurbished rooms and re-positioned restaurants, while supporting a multi-million-dollar renovation. Prior to this, he was Director of Hotel Operations at Caesars Entertainment, based in Las Vegas, where he executed hospitality related initiatives for Caesars' Brands, including Caesars Palace, Flamingo, and Harrah's. In addition, Etcheberrigaray has worked overseas with the Swiss based luxury group, Kempinski Hotels. Due to his international experience, Etcheberrigaray speaks fluent French and Spanish.

Hyatt announces Thompson Savannah GA, Mid 2021

Thompson Savannah, scheduled to open in summer 2021, will bring together the city's colorful past and exciting present with design that combines historic architectural details and contemporary flair. Developed by Atlanta-based Regent Partners as part of the mixed-use Eastern Wharf project—adjacent to the city's historic center and on the banks of the Savannah River—the 193-room property is being designed by Dallas-based firm Studio 11 and will include 21 suites with wraparound balconies. From the parquet tile flooring of the lobby to the use of rich jewel tones and botanical patterns throughout both the common areas and guest rooms, the hotel's design will be inspired by the endemic flora of a city famous for its many green spaces, while staying true to the mid-century modern aesthetic that has become a signature of the Thompson Hotels brand.

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group Adds The Savvy to Management Portfolio

Designed by architecture firm LS3P, the 55-room full-service boutique hotel will have 47 studios and eight suites; a 2,000-square-foot courtyard; and an 800-square-foot meeting room. Adjacent to the hotel will be a seafood restaurant and raw bar. JE Dunn Construction is the general contractor and the project is being co-developed by Garage Cap Hospitality and JPW Development Partners.
