Tom Rutherford has been promoted to Regional Director Indochina at The Amansara

Aman Resorts, Hotels and Residences has promoted Tom Rutherford to the position of Regional Director Indochina, as well as General Manager of the Amansara. Tom, who will be based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, worked most recently as General Manager of the stunning Amantaka resort in Laos. With over 20 years of experience within the hospitality industry, Tom's journey began with the completion of a 3-year Hospitality Management Diploma in 2004. That was followed by 5 years working at the Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, a member of Leading Hotels of the World. In 2010, Tom joined Singita, and was appointed as General Manager, overseeing Singita's flagship properties - Ebony, Boulders and Castleton - before moving to the Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa team as General Manager in 2017. Tom left his home country of South Africa in 2018 to join Aman as GM of the Amantaka in Luang Prabang.

His career has seen him work in Scotland, the Caribbean, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Qatar, Russia, Mainland China, Hong Kong and now Cambodia.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Stuart's career spans 25 years in hospitality with the past 18 in South-East Asia. Until recently, Stuart held the position of General Manager at the Purist villas in Bali and for 5-years, General Manager at IBAH resort in Bali for Warwick Hotels. For ten years he was with Orient Express Belmond as Hotel Manager on Road to Mandalay in Myanmar and in corporate sales roles.

Ashley Lai has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Siem Reap

Ms. Ashley Lai has been appointed General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Siem Reap, Cambodia. The hotel is Marriott's first Courtyard hotel in Cambodia, with a second - the Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh - scheduled to open later this year. Ashley has worked with Marriott International for 14 years, initially at the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur before moving to the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa in 2013 as Resident Manager.
