Katherine Doggrell has been appointed as Editor in Chief EMEA region at Questex Hospitality

Previously Perspectives Editor at Hotel Analyst, Katherine is a highly respected journalist and author with over 15 years' experience in the hotel sector. During her career she has worked for publications including the Financial Times, The Guardian, Q, Mojo and Business 2.0. She is the author of Checking Out: What the Rise of the Sharing Economy Means for the Future of the Hotel Industry, published by Bloomsbury in January 2020.As Editor in Chief, Questex Hospitality, EMEA, Katherine's role will include reporting and analysing breaking news from across the hospitality industry, interviewing senior figures for insight and intelligence and providing commentary and thought leadership on sector trends, movements and transactions. In addition, Katherine will provide in-depth insights from and lead panels at Questex's prominent European portfolio of events including the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF), the recently held Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum (MR&H), the Annual Hotel Conference (AHC), the Israel Hotel Investment Summit (IHIS) as well as the bold new pop-up event for hospitality's evolution into other real estate classes - Adjacent Spaces which will be launching at IHIF Berlin on Tuesday, 3rd of March 2020.

Romain Meiran has been appointed as General Manager at La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa

This month, Romain Meiran was appointed General Manager of La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa. Romain has over 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. Before joining La Réserve, Romain was General Manager of Cheval Blanc Courchevel for five years and most recently General Manager of Cheval Blanc Paris overseeing the operations of and preparation for the 2020 opening. Prior to that, he was the General Manager at Royal Mansour for three years and oversaw the opening of the property in Marrakech. Romain has experience at many Paris institutions including roles at Hôtel Le Meurice, Hôtel de Crillon, Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Ritz Paris.

Christel Cabanier has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle

Christel did communication studies that allowed her to do an internship in a hotel in Antwerp, where she discovered her passion for the hotel industry. At the age of 25, she was the youngest Director of Europe as a woman. Subsequently, Christel held positions as director of hotels and independent hotels such as Park Plaza Hotels. In 2008, while Christel held the position of General Manager at the Bloom Hotel, it was voted by TripAdvisor as one of the hippest hotels in the world. In 2012, Christel was appointed District Director for Radisson (France, Belgium, The Netherlands), at which time she was responsible for 13 Park in by Radisson hotels. Christel helped create the concept for the Radisson RED Hotels, as well as the opening of the first Radisson RED Hotel. Christel is passionate about travel and cooking. She participated as a jury for 3 seasons at Mijn Restaurant (a Belgian show of the same concept as Master Chef). Before joining our teams, Christel was General Manager of the New York Hotel at Disneyland Paris.

Elise Masurel has joined Ecole Ducasse as Managing Director
