Alexander Skibbe has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Bremen

Berlin-born Alexander Skibbe will assume overall charge at the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen with effect from 1 July 2019. Mr. Skibbe is currently Director of Operations at the Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg and has already been responsible for the Steigenberger Hotels in Deidesheim and Munich in his capacity as an interim manager within Steigenberger Hotels AG.

Steigenberger's MAXX brand opens 3rd property in Potsdam Germany

The MAXX family is growing: With the MAXX Hotel Sanssouci Potsdam, the young brand opens its third hotel after Bad Honnef and Vienna within a few months. The current Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci Potsdam is being renovated and redesigned from the ground up. All 137 rooms of the hotel are already equipped according to the new young design, the renovation of kitchen and restaurant is completed. In the public areas, the conversion work is currently in full swing. Potsdam's new flagship will open on August 1st, 2019.

David Dreschner has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Braunschweig

David Dreschner is now at the helm of the IntercityHotel Braunschweig and has also been in post since the start of March. Mr. Dreschner was previously Director of the IntercityHotel Ingolstadt, where he achieved a highly successful initial market positioning. Born in Lower Saxony and a trained hotel specialist, Mr. Dreschner has worked in the international hotel business for more than 25 years, a period which has also included stints in Russia, Belgium and Latvia. Before joining IntercityHotel GmbH as a director, he was Head of Procurement for Europe, the Middle East & Africa at a major international hotel group. Mr. Dreschner was subsequently appointed Senior Director Strategic Alliances & Business Development at Swisscom Hospitality Services.

Lisa Edelmann has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Hanover

Lisa Edelmann has been the new Director of the IntercityHotel Hanover since the beginning of March 2019 and is a product of Deutsche Hospitality's own talent pool. Ms. Edelmann started out at the IntercityHotel Dresden, where she was able to gather professional experience in the areas of reception and reservations. At the same time, she completed a degree in Business Administration with a specialism in Hotel Management. Three years later, she helped prepare for the opening of the IntercityHotel Leipzig, where she remained as Deputy Director until her latest move.

Daniel Kosin has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Augsburg

The vacant director position at the IntercityHotel Augsburg will be filled by Daniel Kosin, who has also been appointed as of 1 June 2019. Mr. Kosin can look back on seven years of management experience in the hotel sector. His most recent role was Deputy General Manager of the Superior Comfort Hotel Monheim, in which capacity he was responsible for pre-opening, operations and revenue management.

Monika Schnepf has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Ingolstadt

Monika Schnepf will take over as General Manager of the IntercityHotel Ingolstadt with effect from 1 June 2019. Having originally trained as a hotel specialist, Ms. Schnepf began her career at Deutsche Hospitality in 1993 as Head of Reception at the IntercityHotel Nuremberg. She went on to become director of the same hotel for a period of four years before gaining experience abroad in various senior managerial roles at the former Steigenberger Holiday Hotel in Taba, Egypt. Monika Schnepf has been managing the IntercityHotel Augsburg very successfully since 2003.

Based in the Frankfurt IHG office, Joanna will be responsible for driving sustainable hotel performance for IHG and owners of IHG's managed estate in Northern Europe. In this newly established role, she will be working with IHG, owners and hotels to accelerate business processes and drive an increase in efficiency for all parties. To that extent, she will be traveling extensively across the region and working closely with hotels in a supporting role to optimise profits, evaluate commercial strategies and drive long-term revenue. Joanna's new role was created as part of IHG's efforts to develop an effective market model for Europe in order to bring resources closer to owners and hotels. This process led to the creation of the newly formed divisional team in IHG's Frankfurt office under the leadership of Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director, Northern Europe. In her new role, Joanna will be a member of the Northern European Leadership team, directly reporting into Mario Maxeiner.Born and raised in Warsaw, Joanna has been with IHG for 8 years and brings a strong background in Finance and Operations to her new role. Starting as Director of Finance & Business Support at the InterContinental Warsaw, a position she held for three years, Joanna went on to various Finance and Operations roles throughout IHG's European business. Most recently, she held the role of Operations Finance Director for the Luxury & Managed estate in Europe. 

Claudia Feuß has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd

Claudia Feuß has taken up the managerial reins at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd, the largest of more than 40 hotels which operate under the IntercityHotel brand. Her appointment is effective from 26 April 2019. The official handover of responsibility from Anton M. Wüstefeld to Ms. Feuß was celebrated by a donation of €20,000 made to the Rödelheim Children's Early Intervention Centre. Mr. Wüstefeld, who won a "Best Iconic Employee" title at the 2017 Worldwide Hospitality Awards, spent almost 50 years with IntercityHotel GmbH's parent company Steigenberger Hotels AG and left a lasting mark on the group during this period.

IntercityHotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof Ost holds its topping-out ceremony

The IntercityHotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof Ost is currently taking shape at the heart of Hanover. It will be the second hotel to be operated by the brand at this particular location. Today, just under a year after the formal laying of the foundation stone, about 300 guests and construction workers joined Mayor Stefan Schostok at Andreas Hermes Square to stage a topping-out ceremony.

Stefan Henseling has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Ulm

Stefan Henseling, who is currently Deputy Director of the IntercityHotel Mainz, will take over the reins at the IntercityHotel Ulm on 1 April 2019. Stefan joined Steigenberger Hotels AG in 2006 and began his career with the group as a receptionist at the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurt Langen. He took on a number of different roles at the same hotel before moving to IntercityHotel in 2011 to help establish a new hotel in Mainz, capital of the State of Rhineland Palatinate. Stefan Henseling succeeds the outgoing General Manager Katrin Schißler.

Oliver Schäfer has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Munich

Oliver W. Schäfer has many years of experience as Hotel General Manager with a strong background in the corporate and luxury hotel sector. Schäfer, most recently General Manager of Sheraton Munich Westpark & Four Points by Sheraton Munich Central, has been named General Manager of the Year by his former employer Marriott in 2016 and 2017. Oliver Schäfer will manage the Steigenberger Hotel Munich as General Manager from 1st April, 2019.
