Second Doubletree Property Coming To Portugal

Hilton will make its debut in the stunning Azores islands with the DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores, expected to open in early 2022. Guests can indulge in Sao Miguel island's spectacular scenery and wildlife, with many picturesque beaches and golf courses located within 45 minutes of the hotel at Avenida da Inovaçao, Lte 26, 9560 Lagoa. Amenities in this 101-bedroom, new build property include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar, outdoor pool and poolside bar, as well as a spa and fitness facilities. Guests visiting the nearby business park will also benefit from the hotel's 210sqm of event space, including four meeting rooms. The hotel will be operated under a management agreement between Hilton and Let's Sea Azores, S.A. and will be the second DoubleTree property in Portugal, joining DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lisbon - Fontana Park.

Hilton Announces Legacy Hotel Cascais, Curio Collection by Hilton, Portugal

Joining a global portfolio of more than 90 one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts, Legacy Hotel Cascais, Curio Collection by Hilton will sit in the historic heart of Cascais. Guests will be surrounded by a wealth of attractions, with museums, shops and restaurants just minutes away. Most of the hotel's 58 rooms will have balconies, offering stunning ocean and courtyard views. Guests will also have access to amenities including a lobby bar, two restaurants, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. From its prime location on Avenida de 25 de Abril 528, just 28km from Lisbon with easy access to the city's business parks, the hotel will appeal to both leisure and business travellers. Expected to open its doors in summer 2023, the property will operate under a franchise agreement between Hilton and Honest Talents Lda, a subsidiary of Reformosa. It will become the third Curio Collection hotel in Portugal following the opening of the Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia in 2019 and The Emerald House Lisbon, due to open in 2021.

Portugal's Second Hilton Branded Hotel Coing To Porto Gaia

Following a franchise agreement with Sabersal - Promocão Turística e Imobiliária, S.A., Hilton Porto Gaia will become the second Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Portugal, joining Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort and Spa. Located at Rua de Serpa Pinto 87, 4400-307 Vila Nova de Gaia, this 194-room property will be set amidst the area's renowned and historic port wine cellars. Amenities include one restaurant, a lobby bar and a destination bar with panoramic views of Porto's historic centre and the Douro River, as well as a 912sqm modern spa offering an indoor pool with dynamic water jets, sauna, Turkish bath, four treatment rooms and a gym, among other features. The hotel will also offer extensive event space, with a 356-seat auditorium and 1,688sqm of meeting space, including a 735sqm ballroom. Perfect either for business or leisure travellers, the hotel is expected to open in summer 2021.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton to Welcome First Hotel in Portugal

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced an agreement to open Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton - a unique 77-room property that will bring an exciting new guest experience to Portugal's second-largest city. The hotel is owned by Referência Arrojada SA, a subsidiary of Mercan Group of Companies, and will operate under a franchise agreement with Hilton, with the opening planned for early summer 2021. It will be Portugal's first Tapestry Collection property.

Hyatt Announces Plans for Andaz Lisbon

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Feuring Hotel Lissabon GmbH & Co. KG for the first Andaz hotel in Lisbon. Expected to open in 2024, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital - named one of the world's best destinations in 2019 - and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt's continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon following the planned opening of Hyatt Regency Lisbon in 2022.

Jorge Contreras has been appointed as Executive Chef at Six Senses Douro Valley

Six Senses Douro Valley is delighted to announce the appointment of Jorge Garibay Contreras as executive chef. He joins Six Senses Douro Valley from the exclusive members-only private resorts community, El Dorado Golf and Beach Club in Mexico.Born and raised in Mexico, Chef Jorge was passionate about food and farming from a very young age. In 2002 he graduated from the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana, Mexico City with a Bachelor of Arts in Gastronomy. While taking his university course he worked every summer in New York - and that's where he decided to move after his graduation and joined the Alain Ducasse group.His culinary journey in New York continued at March Restaurant, a one Michelin-starred restaurant and concluded when he decided to travel back to his home country. In 2005, Chef Jorge moved to Baja where he found great inspiration in nature and the clean fresh ingredients when working for boutique Hotel Casa Natalia in San Jose del Cabo. One year later he started working for celebrity Chef Charlie Trotter in his "C" Restaurant at the One & Only Palmilla resort. Next he headed to the Basque country and Mugaritz, a two Michelin-starred restaurant, before returning to One & Only Palmilla resort as the executive chef.

Radisson RED Porto scheduled for 2021

The Radisson RED brand is also set to arrive in Porto, Portugal's second largest city - and due to open in 2021. Boasting a prime location in the Vila Nova de Gaia area, the Radisson RED Porto will be within walking distance of some of the city's top attractions - including the iconic Dom Luis I Bridge, as well as popular port wine cellars - and will add 278 rooms to the group's Portuguese portfolio.

New 290-key Radisson RED coming to Lisbon Olaias

Set to open in 2021, the new-build Radisson RED Lisbon Olaias will arrive in the vibrant Olaias neighborhood of Portugal's capital, with excellent transport connections to the city center. It will be the group's second property in Lisbon, alongside the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lisbon, and adds to the Radisson RED brand's presence across the Iberian Peninsula. Featuring 290 rooms, a OUIBar + KTCHN, a gym and a rooftop pool.

PortoBay Flores Opens In Porto, Portugal

PortoBay Flores has opened in Porto, Portugal. Built from a 500-year-old small palace, the façade keeps the large wooden doors, the large windows surmounted by triangular pediments, wrought iron balconies and stonework emblazoned with a 16th-century coat of arms. Samuel Torres de Carvalho, the hotel's architect, aimed to protect the origins of the building while also updating it.

Hyatt Regency Brand to Enter the Portuguese Market with Hyatt Regency Lisbon

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise and related agreements with Realtejo - Hotelaria e Turismo, S.A., owned subsidiary of United Investments Portugal and Fibeira, to develop the first Hyatt branded hotel in Portugal: Hyatt Regency Lisbon. Expected to open in late 2020, the hotel will feature 200 hotel rooms and apartments and will be located between Rua Guerra Junqueiro and Avenida da Índia, a stunning waterfront location facing Tejo River.
