Robert C. Hauck has been appointed as Area Vice President and General Manager at The Galle Face Hotel

Louis T Collection has named Robert C. Hauck general manager of the iconic Galle Face Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Area Vice President for South Asia. In this new role, Hauck will oversee the operations of the legendary, 156-room historic seafront property in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, while supporting growth objectives and driving operational excellence for Louis T as it accelerates its strategic expansion in South Asia.

IHG signs InterContinental Colombo

InterContinental Hotels Group® (IHG), one of world's leading hotel companies, has signed a management agreement with Pearl Grand Tower Hotel (Private) Limited, to bring back the InterContinental brand to the Sri Lankan capital. Due to open in 2019, InterContinental® Colombo will feature 307 rooms including 47 suites. This iconic development will be spread across 480,000 sq. ft. and the luxury hotel is expected to be the tallest hotel tower comprising 42 floors, in Colombo 3, an important and established commercial area of the city.

Moshi Perera has been appointed as General Manager at Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa

Shangri-La Hotel To Open in Colombo, Sri Lanka

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts today announced that Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo is set to open on 16 November 2017. The hotel will begin taking bookings from 1 September 2017 for stays from 1 December 2017. Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo will be the second property in Sri Lanka for the luxury Asian hospitality group – joining Shangri-La"s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, which opened in June 2016 – and is anticipated to be one of the most prominent hotel launches in Sri Lanka in nearly 30 years.

Ross Sanders has been appointed as General Manager at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort

Ross, who is Scottish, brings to the role 13 years of varied and diverse experience in the hospitality industry. He started his hotel career as a Guest Relations Manager at Pangkor Laut Resort, Perak, Malaysia. His second appointment was with The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he completed an extensive management development programme and later become Quality Manager of Operations. From there Ross moved to Japan to help open The Green Leaf Niseko Village in Hokkaido as Operations Manager, before returning to Malaysia as Rooms Division Manager at Tanjong Jara Resort, Terengganu.

Marc Schröer has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort & Spa

Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka has announced that Nonky Tejapermana and Marc Schröer have joined the team as the resort’s new Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverages, respectively. With a wealth of luxury hospitality experience spanning over twenty years, the new female Executive Chef and dynamic director will bring a host of innovative ideas and culinary expertise to Sri Lanka’s newest luxury opening. Schröer has worked for several prestigious companies across the globe, including the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, where he held the position of Food and Beverage Director. Schröer has travelled extensively across Europe and South Asia and brings with him an eclectic mix of influences to the culinary offering at Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa.
