Eden Hotels (“Eden”), the Dutch hotel group owned by the Dijkstra family, announced today that an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners (“KSL”) made a majority investment into the group. The Dijkstra family will retain a significant minority stake in the group, and Eden CEO Leon Dijkstra will remain in his role in Eden Hotels. The combined ambition is to expand Eden Hotels into Europe. Terms of the investment are undisclosed.
Leib, who will be based in Amsterdam, brings considerable specialist experience and connections to the firm's EMEA Hospitality team. He was previously Acquisitions Director for Amsterdam-based Sircle Collection (owner of the Sir, Max Brown and Park Centraal brands), for whom he secured deals for new hotels domestically within The Netherlands and in markets as diverse as Barcelona, Vienna, Lisbon, Milan and Ibiza.
The 121-key asset will be the first opening in mainland Europe for edyn's newly launched serviced apartment brand, Cove. edyn acquired the building from a hotel owner and operator, where it has been operating as a 118-unit hotel since 2015. The asset will be converted to include 121 studio and one-bedroom apartments; plus 250 sqm lobby, lounge, and co-working space. The digital hotel concept limehome is expanding its presence in the European market and opens their first apartments in the Netherlands at Keizerstraat 327 in Scheveningen, The Hague, in August 2021. Limehome is thus entering the Dutch hospitality market for the first time. Deluxe, Superior and Standard Suites are spaced over two floors. In the long term, approximately 5,000 additional units are planned in the Netherlands.
