Samuel Peery has been appointed as Executive Chef at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot

Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, the 202-room hotel located in the heart of New Orleans' Central Business District, announces today the appointment of Samuel Peery as executive chef. In his new role overseeing the hotel's food and beverage program, Chef Peery will lead the kitchen and develop new and exciting menus for Hotel Fontenot's restaurant and bar concepts, including the elevated and energetic cocktail lounge Peacock Room, neighborhood café Gospel Coffee and Boozy Treats, and a new concept coming early next year, along with expanded banquet and event catering service.

The Pelham Hotel In New Orleans Debuts Full Interior Renovation

The 65-room Pelham Hotel, located in the heart of downtown New Orleans, announces the completion of an extensive interior renovation, including a redesign of the lobby, guest rooms and bathrooms, guest corridor and more. The renovation comes as a result of new ownership by AMS Hospitality, the hospitality division of Southeast-focused real estate development firm, Allen Morris Company, and Black Salmon, the Miami-based national real estate investment and development firm. The hotel is managed by HRI Lodging, LLC and with design led by Suomi Design Works.

Newstream Capital Partners has announced the opening of its 10-story, 143-key IHG Hotel Indigo New Orleans - French Quarter. The complete renovation and conversion of the former Royal St. Charles was orchestrated by Newstream, who managed the hotel's property improvements. HP Hotels assisted on the rebranding and will be the hotel's third-party property manager. Newstream Capital Partners President, CEO and Partner Tim Nystrom made the announcement.

Paramount Hospitality Management Set to Open Element Baton Rouge South

Element by Westin®, part of Marriott International, is set to debut on Wednesday, December 8, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the opening of the 123-room Element Baton Rouge South. A native to Louisiana, Guidry joins the brand from The J Collection in New Orleans, where she drove the success of the sales and marketing team with a specialty in financial operations, leadership, and consistent brand messaging to secure bookings and ensure meaningful guest experiences. Prior to settling down in her hometown, she spent six years in California polishing her broad skill set at Fairmont Hotel & Resorts, eventually departing as Director of Group Sales. Guidry will utilize her experience, managing 17 luxury properties and overseeing two openings, by spearheading sales from the Southeastern and Southern U.S. target guest markets for all Mexico resorts. She brings an infectious energy to her work, one which is rooted in her deep passion for hospitality, travel and culinary.Guidry is based in New Orleans with her tight-knit family. In her downtime, she enjoys the expansive culinary delights and rich culture of the city and also volunteers for safe housing nonprofit, Hotel Hope. Guidry holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of South Carolina, Columbia as well as industry awards from Where Magazine and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

New voco Hotel debuts in New Orleans

Barry Rodriguez has been appointed as Director of Sales at Virgin Hotels New Orleans

A key addition to the team, Rodriguez is a veteran of the local hospitality industry with 17 years of hotel sales experience with luxury destinations throughout New Orleans. Rodriguez began his hotel sales career as a Corporate Sales Manager preparing for the opening of the Loews New Orleans Hotel in 2003. As a pre-opening team member, he contributed extensively to the property's initial marketing campaign and the bid for the hotel's AAA Four Diamond rating. He l ater joined the Windsor Court New Orleans in 2004, where he rose through the ranks from Sales Manager to Director of Sales and Marketing. In 2010, he took a position as Director of Sales at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. Rodriguez returned to the Loews New Orleans Hotel in 2016 as Director of Sales and Marketing, a role he enjoyed until accepting the offer to join the opening team at Virgin Hotels New Orleans.
