Loews, The Cordish Companies and The St. Louis Cardinals Unveil New Details and Break Ground on First Loews Property in St. Louis, MO

Loews Hotels & Co, The Cordish Companies and the St. Louis Cardinals today released new hotel renderings and officially broke ground on the new $65 million Live! by Loews - St. Louis, MO hotel which will be located inside the second phase of Ballpark Village. Executives from Loews, Cordish and the Cardinals were joined by St. Louis Cardinals hall of famer, Ozzie Smith, St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, Kitty Ratcliffe of Explore St. Louis and local business and community leaders to celebrate the new addition to the St. Louis hotel landscape.

Mark Krtek has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Phillips Kansas City

The iconic Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton is pleased to announce the appointment of its new General Manager, Mark Krtek, effective immediately. With his expansive knowledge of the hospitality industry, including over two decades of experience serving the Midwest hospitality industry, and nine years dedicated to service in the role of general manager, Krtek is a welcome addition to the Hotel Phillips team.

Matthew White has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at The Chase Park Plaza, a Royal Sonesta Hotel

Matthew White, an award-winning hospitality professional, has been named the Director of Food and Beverage. In this role, White will be responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, including dining experience, quality control, purchasing, and budgeting. White has an extensive background in the hospitality industry, including his most recent position as the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at Royal Sonesta New Orleans. During his tenure, he oversaw all operations of the hotel’s six dining outlets and was responsible for re-launching one of the restaurants after an extensive renovation. White was instrumental in advancing the restaurant’s TripAdvisor ranking from 187 to 49, bringing it to the top three percent of restaurants in the city. In 2016 he was named Manager of the Year. Prior to joining Royal Sonesta New Orleans, White held a similar position with the Roosevelt Hotel, Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in New Orleans. White holds a certification from the Guild of Sommeliers and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.

Jessica Wrenfrow has been appointed as Event Sales Manager at Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center

As the resort’s new Event Sales Manager, Wrenfrow is responsible for assisting meeting professionals, association executives, incentive specialists, business executives and event planners in the coordination of meetings, programs and events at the resort. She specializes in coordinating galas and weddings. Prior to joining the resort, Wrenfrow served for four years as Hospitality Services Instructor at Arkansas State University-Newport in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Previous to that, she was Adjunct Instructor at Ozarks College, where she taught developmental courses to prepare students for future classes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences from College of the Ozarks, and a Master of Science in Human Environmental Services, with an emphasis on Hospitality, from the University of Arkansas. Gayla Welsh has been appointed as Corporate Sales Manager at Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center

In her new position as Corporate Sales Manager, Welsh is responsible for the resort’s sales efforts to the corporate meetings market in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois, according to the resort’s Director of Sales Nathan Wood. A 25-year hospitality industry veteran, Welsh has extensive sales experience which includes serving for five years as Director of Group Sales for The Lodge at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton, Missouri; Director of Group Sales for The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Missouri; and Senior Sales Manager for 12 years at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Golf Club, Marina & Indoor Waterpark in Osage Beach, Missouri. Her diverse experience also includes serving as Regional Account Manager for MedFare in Osage Beach, Missouri, and as Community Education Coordinator for Lake Career & Technical Center in Camdenton, Missouri. Joseph Bidwell has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch

Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, a modern hotel located downtown just steps away from the Gateway Arch, announces Joseph Bidwell as its new executive chef. Bidwell joins the property from Hyatt Regency Reston, in Reston, Va. Bidwell has more than 16 years of experience in the food and restaurant industry. He began his career with Hyatt Corporate in 2001 as banquet sous chef and held various positions ranging from executive sous chef to director of food and beverage. His experience includes working at several Hyatt properties throughout the country including Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Hyatt Regency Boston, and Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Additionally, he was recognized as Chef of the Year by Hyatt Hotels in 2009.

Brian Marsh has been appointed as General Manager at Lumière Place Casino and Hotels

Drawing on more than two decades of experience in the casino industry, Mr. Marsh is responsible for overall operations at Lumière Place. Prior to joining Tropicana, Mr. Marsh was based in Indiana. For ten years, he held multiple roles at French Lick Resort & Casino, ultimately earning the title of General Manager. During his tenure, he oversaw the grand opening of the property and managed its day-to-day operations.
