Elizabeth Pavisha has been appointed as Director of Design at Two Roads Hospitality

International lifestyle company Two Roads Hospitality, comprised of Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, Destination Hotels, Alila and tommie, has appointed Elizabeth Pavisha as Director of Design, focusing on Destination Hotels. Pavisha offers more than a decade of experience in the interior design realm, ranging from large-scale public and commercial projects to hospitality and education spaces. Her proven track record in the creative field allows Pavisha to focus on the design vision for Destination Hotels, while overseeing new development and renovation projects. Elizabeth also serves as a design partner in business development initiatives at the company.

Rohit Anand has been appointed as Vice President of Brand Activation and Partnerships at Dream Hotel Group

Renowned hotel brand and management company Dream Hotel Group appoints Rohit Anand as Vice President of Brand Activation and Partnerships. In this role, Mr. Anand will lead the company’s efforts to develop and implement immersive brand partnerships, programming and activations across Dream Hotel Group’s brands including Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, The Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels, furthering the company’s ethos of immersive hotel experiences.

Leslie Shammas has been appointed as Global Director Design & Development at Canyon Ranch®

With nearly 30 years dedicated to the hospitality architecture and design industry, Leslie Shammas joins Canyon Ranch as Global Director Design & Development. Shammas brings to Canyon Ranch her expertise in hotel and resort design, spa design, resort residential design and site development & programming, along with her passion for design, innovation and travel. Shammas began her career with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) as Project Architect and then as an Associate and Spa Studio Manager, where she was responsible for the overall development and implementation of various properties, including Fairmont and Four Seasons resorts in Mexico and California, along with The Golden Door Spa at the Boulders, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Marriott Laguna Cliffs Spa in Dana Point, California and Leela Hotel Properties in Bangalore, Goa and Udaipur, India. Next, as Director of Design & Construction for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Shammas worked on new developments and major renovations, including those of Fairmont Pittsburgh, Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, and Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Through their expansion, Shammas continued with Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI) as Executive Director of Design & Construction - Americas, where she provided support during the design and construction phases of new hotels and large-scale renovations of properties including Fairmont Austin, Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkley, California, and Fairmont Nanjing in China. Shammas graduated from California Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1988, and also holds a CAB Architects License since 1992.

Pauline Choo has been promoted to Managing Director of Design at Cachet Hotel Group (CHG)

Pauline Choo has been promoted to lead CHG's Cachet Global Interior Design Division, based in Bangkok. Prior to joining CHG, Pauline worked for multiple world-renowned firms including Wilson Associates, Hirsch Bedner Associates, and LTW Design Works, where she coordinated projects for luxury brands including Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, and Four Seasons.

Carl Lawton has been appointed as Product Manager at Guestline Ltd

John Edwards has been appointed as Vice President of Design and Construction at Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG)

Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), an Atlanta-based, private hotel management company, today announced that John Edwards has joined the company as vice president of design and construction. In his newly created role, Edwards will work closely with the business development team, as well as brand and investor partners, to oversee new development and renovation projects. He also will be responsible for capital expense planning for the company’s owned and managed portfolio.

Ashley Stemper has been appointed as Director of Design at Provenance Hotels

Provenance Hotels has announced the hiring of Ashley Stemper as Director of Interior Design for its growing portfolio of hotels. Stemper brings diverse international expertise to the newly-created role in which she will be responsible for directing design projects for the company’s eight existing hotels in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Nashville and New Orleans and overseeing direction and execution for all new projects in the works. These include Hotel Theodore which is slated to open in downtown Seattle later this year, the adaptive reuse of the historic Woodlark and Cornelius buildings in Portland and a ground-up development on the sand in Hermosa Beach, California.

Kevin Underwood has been appointed as Principal and Head of Master Planning & Design at HKS Inc.

HKS Hospitality Group, the global architectural practice recognized internationally for its creative design and collaborative approach, has announced the appointment of Kevin Underwood as Principal and Head of Master Planning & Design. Underwood, whose 30-year career in master planning and landscape design has spanned award-winning hotel/resort projects, as well as major urban regeneration schemes around the world, will be based in the firm’s London office. In his previous roles, Underwood was the Principal in charge of Hospitality at Edaw before Aecom acquired it, and then he was the Global Leader of Leisure and Culture at Aecom. In this role, he led the teams responsible for such notable designs as the seminal Heart of Doha/Msheireb project and Education City Doha, as well as the world’s first Qu’ranic garden, Disneyland Paris and a number of international developments for luxury hotel brands including the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt, and Banyan Tree.

David Thorpe has been appointed as Managing Director of Design and Construction at Silverwest Hotels, LLC

Silverwest Hotels LLC, a Denver-based investment and management company, today announced the appointment of David Thorpe as Managing Director of Design and Construction. In his new role, Thorpe will be responsible for overseeing Silverwest’s nearly $40 million of renovation work currently underway at the company’s various hotel properties. Silverwest is currently planning the renovation of the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort& Spa in Hawaii, The Inverness Hotel in Denver and its three San Antonio properties. In addition, Mr. Thorpe will direct the construction of the Element by Westin in West Des Moines, Iowa, scheduled to begin construction in the spring of 2016.

Monika Moser has been appointed as Managing Director at Wilson Associates

Monika MOSER ESSEC IMHI 2010 has been appointed Managing Director for Wilson Associates, Atelier Tristan Auer, the new European office in Paris. Wilson Associates is one of the top architectural design companies leading in the hospitality design industry worldwide. Monika was previously Director of Rooms and Spa at the Hotel Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris and has, in key positions, taken part in luxury hotel openings, such as the Hotel Shangri-la Paris, Four Seasons Hotel George V and Hilton Hotel Arc de Triomphe.

Teddy Mayer has been named Vice President of Design at Virgin Hotels

Virgin Hotels has named Teddy Mayer its new VP of design for the head office team in Miami. Mayer will immediately begin working on the next Virgin Hotels in the pipeline in Nashville and New York. Working closely with creative consultants, Mayer will oversee the vision and execution for how the Virgin Hotels brand comes to life in a hospitality environment—from intimate spaces like the hotel rooms to lifestyle spaces such as the flagship outlet, Commons Club, and multiple bars and restaurants, according to the company. Mayer spent seven years as the senior director of design and development at Morgans Hotel Group, where he focused on the expansion of the Delano, Mondrian and Hudson Hotel brands. On the agency side, he began his design career at Skidmore Owings & Merrill in New York, where he focused on hospitality interiors projects for brands such as W Hotels and Resorts, Capella and The James. Most recently, he worked for Gensler in New York as the regional director of hospitality interiors. He was responsible for establishing a hospitality interiors studio and developing the regional practice.

Francois Frossard has been appointed as Executive Interior Designer at Palace Resorts

Francois Frossard of Francois Frossard Design (FFD), one of Miami’s foremost authorities on architecture and interior design, has been appointed Executive Interior Designer of five-star, all-inclusive resort company, Palace Resorts. As lead designer for Palace Resorts, Francois is responsible for the overall design and aesthetic of all resort locations, which includes eight properties throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, including the company’s first-ever resort in Jamaica, debuting in early 2015.

William Hoy has been appointed as Vice President of Construction, Design and Facilities Management at Shaner Hotel Group

Shaner Hotels today announced the appointment of William Hoy, AIA as Vice President of Construction, Design and Facilities Management. With over 31 years of experience in all phases of design, development, and construction processes, coupled with demonstrated experience in facilities planning, capital budgeting and construction management, Bill will be responsible for overseeing the development of new build hotels and the multiple hotel renovations and conversions planned. His background includes assignments as Senior Vice President, Design and Project Management with Marriott International, and also senior management level positions with B.F. Patrick Lo has been appointed as Vice President - Design and Planning Greater China at Swiss International Hotels

Prior to joining Swiss International, he was a partner / director of major international design firms in Australia, Hong Kong and China.
