Rockwell Group Europe (“RGe”) has teamed up with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to design the W Paris-Opéra, W Hotels’ debut in France. Diego Gronda, Managing and Creative Director of RGe, the Madrid satellite office of New York’s Rockwell Group founded by David Rockwell, is leading the design team on this innovative project scheduled to open in 2011.
As of 16 November 2009, Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa in Adelboden, Switzerland is re-branding and will simply be known as The Cambrian, A Member of Design Hotels. Despite the name change and new marketing association with Design Hotels, the property will continue to be managed by The West Paces Hotel Group, the luxury hotel management group established by Horst Schulze, ex-CEO of The Ritz-Carlton, which owns the Capella Hotels and Resorts and Solís Hotels and Resorts brands and also manages a number of independent properties like The Cambrian.
