Red Lion Hotels (RLH) has extended ReviewPro guest satisfaction solutions to all 350 Knights Inn Brand properties acquired last year. The newly acquired hotels have been added to ReviewPro's Online Reputation Management and Guest Satisfaction Survey solutions. RLH monitors reputation at the individual property level and the corporate level in order to identify areas for operational and service improvement and highlight where training is needed, all based on guest feedback.

Fresh research from SAP Concur and Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) shows that, nowadays, business travellers are less likely to book flights and accommodation directly from suppliers. In other words, online travel agency (OTA) bookings have now surpassed direct bookings to become the more popular option, particularly for those travelling for business. In this study, 1,252 business travellers, hailing from an assortment of European countries like the UK, Belgium, Germany, France and various Nordic countries, who travelled for business at least once in the last year were polled. The figures show the number of European business travellers booking flights directly with their preferred airline drop from 79% in 2017 to 68% this year. In the same time period, direct hotel bookings dropped 13%, from 83% to 70%.

A year after several global chains introduced new cancellation fees, the hotel booking behavior of travelers in global corporations is largely unaffected. Analysis of corporate bookings by HRS, the leading global hotel solutions provider, found that the relative number of cancellations increased by nearly one (0.9) percent. And the associated additional costs for companies are considerable: the tightened conditions led to corporations absorbing higher hotel costs - on average 3.8 percent of their total hotel spend.
