Auberge Resorts Collection, a portfolio of award-winning hotels, resorts and residences, today announced that it plans a Spring 2020 opening for its first urban retreat in the dynamic destination of Austin, Texas. Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection will be a modern interpretation of a residential estate from yesteryear, where guests are invited to sit back, celebrate and inspire thoughtful conversation. Designed by internationally known designer Ken Fulk, the resort will bring a new level of contemporary glamour, whimsical soul and effortless luxury representative of Austin's uniqueness. The intimate 10-acre resort offers a uniquely Texas familiarity brimming with character, independent spirit and charm, boasting 42 rooms and 12 suites, and amenities including an organic urban farm, Lutie's - the signature garden restaurant, a members club and a serene outdoor swimming pool.

Nenad Praporski has been appointed as General Manager at Fairmont Austin

Praporski most recently served as Hotel Manager, Fairmont Austin, a position which gave him wide-ranging oversight of hotel operations, with a strong focus on driving operational excellence in key areas of employee and guest engagement, service culture, revenue, GOP margins, and owner relations. Praporski brings extensive operational experience in luxury hotels to this role.

Mindi Marshall has been named Dual General Manager at Aloft and Element Austin Downtown

White Lodging is pleased to announce Mindi Marshall as the dual general manager of the Aloft and Element Austin Downtown. In her new role, Marshall will oversee all operations at the dual-branded property, which is located in the heart of downtown Austin and opened in the summer of 2017.Marshall was promoted from her role as assistant general manager of the same hotels, a position she has held since joining White Lodging in August 2018. During her time, she focused on building upon the legacy of s ervice excellence and experience at the property. Mindi replaces David Meisner in this role. Meisner was recently named general manager of the new Marriott Austin Downtown, another White Lodging property with 613 rooms and on track to open in summer 2020. Before joining White Lodging, Mindi was with Winegardner & Hammons and served in multiple positions, including opening general manager for Hyatt Place Round Rock, and assistant general manager at Cincinnati Marriott Northeast and Austin Marriott North. Also, during her time at Winegardner & Hammons, Mindi served as a task force general manager at multiple properties across the country.

Nicholas Hines has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at The InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel

The InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin has announced the hiring of Nicholas Hines as director of food and beverage for the property. Hines brings over nine years of industry experience to the role, where he will provide strategic leadership and oversee the operation of the hotel's food and beverage outlets as well as its events and catering services.

Tobias Cox has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa

With a 25-year career in hospitality, Tobias Cox brings extensive expertise to Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. Cox has a decorated career with past positions at The Ritz-Carlton and Loews properties around the country, including Boston, Kapalua and Miami. He joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as Executive Sous Chef at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate and went on to hold the positions of Director of Catering and Conference Services and Area Director of Food and Beverage.

Joshua Hasho has been appointed as Executive Chef of Restaurants at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa

Classically-trained by masters in the culinary world, Joshua Hasho is also no stranger to the Omni Hotels & Resorts family. He served as Executive Chef in 2012 at Omni Chicago Hotel and served as the Resort Executive Chef at Omni Interlocken Resort in Denver, Colorado in 2014 before moving back to Omni Chicago in 2017 as Area Executive Chef. Before joining Omni Hotels & Resorts, Hasho expanded his culinary horizons working for industry legends including Chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Napa Valley, California, and Chef Laurent Tourondel at BLT Restaurant in New York.
