Koenitzer brings over ten years of managerial experience to his new role. He joins Hilton Richmond Downtown from the Embassy Suites Hampton Roads Convention Hotel & Spa where he served as general manager. Prior to that, Koenitzer held the position of general manager with Remington Hotels, overseeing a diverse portfolio of brands including Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Near the Galleria and Courtyard by Marriott Wichita. Koenitzer possesses deep expertise in sales and financial management, complemented by a robust background in food, beverage and operations.

Tim Stacer has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hilton Richmond Downtown

Stacer brings more than two decades of expertise in sales, revenue management and strategic leadership in the hospitality industry. Previously the area director of sales & marketing at Hilton Richmond Downtown, Stacer returns to the property as director of sales & marketing from recently held roles as founding member at JEMS Hospitality Group where he served as chief operating officer and executive vice president, regional revenue manager at Bluewater Hospitality and revenue manager Highgate Hotels.

Bally's Submits Proposal To Develop $650 Million World Class Casino And Resort In Richmond, Virginia

Sherry Abedi has been named General Manager at Quirk Hotel

Sherry Abedi joins the Quirk Hotel team with a distinguished career managing hotels and resorts, in addition to restaurants, and is recognized as an award-winning professional in the hotel industry. Before accepting the position at Quirk Hotel, Abedi was the Resort Manager at Lansdowne Resort, a Destination Resort, which is a AAA Four Diamond resort in Leesburg, Virginia. Under her leadership, Lansdowne Resort won numerous awards including: Virginia Living's "Best Resort, Spa and Golf" of 2014, Meeting Focus's "Best of the East" for 2014 and voted by The Knot as "Best of DC Weddings."

Tony Goebel has been named General Manager at the Richmond Marriott Downtown

Tony Goebel has been named as the general manager of the Richmond Marriott Downtown. Goebel started his hospitality career more than 35 years ago and served in roles including director of catering at the New Orleans Marriott Canal Street and the director of catering, the director of convention sales, director of event management and director of rooms operations at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. He served as the director of food and beverage at the Memphis Marriott Downtown for a year before he was promoted to general manager at the same hotel where he served for six additional years.

John P. Cario has been appointed as General manager at Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown

Cario is a past board member of the Richmond Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau and currently serves on the board of the Greater Richmond Hotel & Motel Association. He has worked in a number of management capacities in Richmond area hotels under the Wyndham, Doubletree and Embassy Suites flags. During his career with Wyndham, he opened or operated seven hotels in Chicago, Nashville, Maryland and Arizona. His Chicago-Oakbrook Terrace Wyndham received “Best New Hotel Award” in 1996. Most recently, he served as general manager of another downtown Richmond hotel, advancing operations following a $10 million renovation. He earned his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Harrisburg, VA. Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown offers 250 rooms and more than 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The hotel forms one part of the restoration of the entire historic Miller & Rhoads building that also includes 133 condominium units and 20,000 square feet of retail space.

Michael Scatoloni has been appointed as director of sales at Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown

Scatoloni recently served as director of sales and marketing at another Richmond hotel, where he supervised a staff of 12. His career has spanned the nation, working on both the East and West Coasts. In addition, he has served as national sales manager for the Pasadena Convention and Visitor Bureau. He has worked for a number of major hotel brands, including Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson and Sheraton. Most recently, he completed an assignment for three independent Historic Inns in Annapolis, MD. “Mike brings our hotel both the local experience of having worked in Richmond the past five years, coupled with national contacts from a career working coast to coast,” said Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging, the owner and manager of the hotel. A native of White Plains, NY, Scatoloni earned a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University Dominguez Hills. He has been an active member and participant in a number of hospitality and travel trade organizations.
