Accor and Sanya Jinghai Cheng Real Estate Development Sign New MGallery Hotel in Sanya City Center

Accor Greater China, together with Sanya Jinghai Cheng Real Estate Development Co. Ltd., is pleased to announce the signing of a new MGallery Hotel Collection address in the cosmopolitan heart of Sanya city center, on the spectacular island of Hainan. The 187-room, 25-storey tower is set to open by the end of 2025 and will benefit from Sanya's thriving tourism industry, luxurious resort reputation, and growing business segment. Along with the recent signing of Chengdu Financial City - MGallery Collection, Accor is set to open five MGallery hotels in Greater China this year, including the recently opened Dunhua Mansion Taipei - MGallery Collection. This will double the brand's portfolio in the country, from its current five hotels in operation, to 10 by the end of 2024.

Marriott International Signs Agreement to Bring W Hotels to Sanya

Marriott International, Inc. recently announced it has signed an agreement with Hainan Qianrui Industrial Development Co., Ltd. to bring the W Hotels brand to Sanya, the popular tourist hub located on China's southerly island province of Hainan. Located in Sanya Bay, W Sanya is slated to open in the second quarter of 2028. With its bold, detail-driven design, elevated service, and engaging always-on programming, the hotel is poised to become a new symbol of luxury hospitality in Sanya.

Eric Kee has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Sanya

Eric Kee will join Mandarin Oriental, Sanya in May from his most recent role as General Manager of Pan Pacific, Xiamen. Eric has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He first joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 1996 as Senior Assistant Front Office Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Macau. He then worked with several hotel groups in China, Malaysia, Macau and Japan before returning to the Group in 2011 as Hotel Manager for The Excelsior, Hong Kong.

Keyestone Group and Hyatt to Collaborate on China's First Hello Kitty Hotel in Hainan

Recently, Adrian Chan has been appointed as the new General Manager of Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay and The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, Autograph Collection. Adrian is now fully responsible for the operation and management of these two landmark hotels catering to business and leisure travelers. Born in Hong Kong, Adrian graduated from the University of Calgary in Canada. He has extensive knowledge built from an impressive career of over 22 years in management experience in various cities, including Calgary, Beijing, Suzhou, Chengdu and Sanya. Adrian started his career at the Calgary Marriott and expanded his expertise across diverse international luxury brands in various operational roles with Fairmont, IHG, MGM, Swire and Rosewood. As a driven and passionate hotelier, Adrian has held Hotel Manager roles for several pre-opening properties including The Temple House by Swire Hotels. Prior to his appointment, Adrian was also the pre-opening Hotel Manager for Rosewood Sanya where he demonstrated leadership in all aspects of the hotel's operations.

Andy Chang has been appointed as General Manager at Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort

Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort has announced the appointment of General Manager Andy Chang, who will continue to drive the hotel toward being the most popular resort on Hainan island, while ensuring the successful pre-opening of Andaz Sanya Sunny Bay Resort. Mr. Chang began his career with Hyatt in 1991 in his home town of Taipei at the Grand Hyatt as a Front Office Clerk. He continued to grow his career in the Rooms Division in various locations such as Guam and Incheon before moving to Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Hotel Manager. Then he was selected as General Manager for Hyatt Regency Jinan and has been in his most recent role as General Manager for Hyatt Regency Wuxi during its pre-opening and opening.Mr. Chang graduated from Taipei University and majored in Economics, which gave him analytical skills and a macro perspective that have benefitted his hotel management duties. In his spare time, he likes swimming and other water sports to keep healthy and energetic, making charming Sunny Bay an ideal place for him to explore.
