Sam Moon Group Unveils Plans for JW Marriott Dallas Arts District

Located one block from the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and Crow Museum of Asian Arts, 800 North Harwood Street in downtown Dallas is at the epicenter of the city's robust cultural arts scene, the Dallas Arts District. It also happens to be the site of Sam Moon Development Group's latest hospitality investment - the first JW Marriott Hotel in Dallas.

Michael J Deutsch has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District

Deutsch brings over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, previously serving in leadership positions across Hilton, Hampton Inn, DoubleTree and Embassy Suites properties in the Northeast. Most recently, he served as the general manager at Sheraton Bucks County Langhorne in Langhorne, Penn. In his new role, Deutsch will oversee all operations at the property including the property's guest rooms, three food and beverage outlets and meeting spaces.

Alexie Estrada has been appointed as Director of Resort Marketing at Hotel Drover, An Autograph Collection hotel

Estrada brings more than 10 years of luxury marketing and social media experience to her role at Hotel Drover. She is tasked with developing and executing multi-channel brand marketing and promotional strategies for the Western retreat with a goal to support growth while increasing consumer awareness. Throughout her career, Estrada successfully launched social platforms for multiple clients, has overseen daily execution of content strategy, swiftly managed events, integrated marketing plans, and assisted with new brand development including a growing collection of 15+ brands with Harwood International's Hospitality + Arts division.

Elga Sickler has been appointed as Vice President of People and Culture at Hotel Drover, An Autograph Collection hotel

With more than 20 years of experience building and developing successful teams, Sickler brings a sense of comfort and inclusivity to the new Fort Worth stunner. In her role, Sickler is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources including recruiting, benefits training and coordination, performance management, compliance, training practices, development of employee protocols, and all other human resources strategy and operations. Prior to joining the Hotel Drover team, Sickler served as the Corporate Director of People & Culture for Makeready, an organization specializing in branding, design, and the operations of hotels, restaurants, retail, and more.

Having held titles such as executive operations manager, director of business optimization and brand planner for renowned players in the luxury hospitality space, his expertise goes unmatched, making him a trusted and well-rounded leader. Thomas has worked closely with ownership since 2020 to help open Fort Worth's first luxury hotel and highest performing ADR and RevPAR hotel in the city.

Sheraton Suites Houston to Become The Chifley, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Sheraton Suites Houston, located in Uptown Houston near the Galleria and River Oaks District, will rebrand as The Chifley, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The rebrand includes renovations to 284 suite-style rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space designed for business and social gatherings. The hotel, which will attract leisure, business, and group travelers, will also feature a destination dining establishment, Rouse, offering an eclectic mix of craft cocktails and cuisine.

Today, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' Luxury & Lifestyle Collection, announced it will open its first hotel in San Antonio, Texas in late 2024. Julie DeLeon has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hilton San Antonio Hill Country

A career sales professional with 25 years of hospitality experience and 10 years within the San Antonio market, DeLeon has held several sales leadership roles for global hotel brands including Hilton. Most recently, she was the director of sales and marketing at Homewood Suites by Hilton Lackland AFB/SeaWorld in San Antonio, where she oversaw the property's corporate and leisure sales strategy. Prior to that, she was also the director of sales and marketing at Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Airport. DeLeon has previously held sales roles at Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown and Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk. DeLeon is a graduate of SST Travel School and attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

Vince Waddill has been appointed as Director of Event Management at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa

JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa promotes Vince Waddill to the Director of Event Management role. In his new position, Waddill will be responsible for overseeing the event management and event operations teams, as well as acting as a facilitator with key hotel partners.Since 2015, Waddill has served the role of Director of Event Planning at the resort.Waddill began his career with Marriott in 1990 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa as a banquet server and soon became a senior banquet captain. In 1997, he relocated to San Diego and served as the senior banquet manager, opening the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa. While in San Diego, he transitioned into event planning as an event manager. Pacific Hospitality Group is proud to announce the renovation and repositioning of Hotel Granduca Austin. Beginning on June 18, Hotel Granduca will undergo an exciting transformation with the addition of a new spa, complete overhaul of the signature restaurant and bar, renovated pool deck and lobby, and more. The hotel will remain in operation during the renovations, which are expected to be completed in early fall. The renovation design and construction is spearheaded by interior design firm Hotel Studio, McCabe Architecture, Digney York Associates and PHG.
