Robert Mitchell has been appointed as Executive Chef at JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead

From 2010 to 2011, Chef Mitchell held the Executive Sous Chef position at New Orleans Marriott where he was fully responsible for all aspects of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef. As Executive Sous Chef he has won multiple awards at the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience. From October 2011 to June 2013 Mitchell held the Executive Chef position at New Orleans Marriott. Chef Mitchell also held the Senior Sous Chef position at the New Orleans Marriott from 2007 to 2009 and was part of the opening team for the new restaurant concept 5 Fifty 5. The hotel ranked top 10 in the company for GSS Quality of Food in their meetings and events. In 2012 Chef Mitchell was recognized for his leadership capabilities in his previous role at New Orleans Marriott Downtown at the Convention Center.

Wendy Hansen has been promoted to Vice President & Legal Counsel for The Americas at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

Wendy Hansen, currently Legal Counsel, The Americas will be promoted to the position of Vice President & Legal Counsel for The Americas with effect from 1 June 2013, and will remain in Atlanta. Prior to joining the Group in 2008, Ms Hansen was an Associate in the real estate department of the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis in San Francisco.

Muktar Dougisyeh has been appointed as General Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown Hotel

airfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown Hotel in partnership with Alliance Hospitality, the Raleigh, NC-based hospitality management company, recently appointed Muktar Dougisyeh as General Manager. Dougisyeh brings more than 20 years experience in the industry to Fairfield Inn & Suites. In his most recent position he served as the General Manager of the Courtyard Marriott Atlanta Airport West for Interstate Hotels Group. Dougisyeh’s appointment comes on the heels of the hotel’s recent multi-million dollar renovation. Evens Charles, hotel developer with Frontier Development and owner of Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown Hotel, said, “Atlanta’s Downtown area is the epicenter of the city’s tourism, and under the proven leadership of Dougisyeh, the hotel will set an even higher standard for amenities, accommodations and service at the hotel.”

Perry Grice has been appointed as Director of Sales at Lodge and Spaat Callaway Gardens

Grice began his career in hospitality at The Breakers Palm Beach, Fla. and over the years has worked through the ranks, serving in hotel conference services, as a concierge, on the catering sales team and in business travel sales. Prior to teaming up with The Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens, Grice served as director of sales and conference services at Callaway Gardens. Despite a declining economy, he maintained growth within sales while developing marketing strategies from the group and social business side. Grice also worked with Georgia State Park Lodges as regional director of sales and Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Convention Center as director of sales and marketing, both in Atlanta, Ga.

Alicia Wiley has been appointed as General Manager at Westin Buckhead Atlanta

Over the years, Wiley has held leadership positions in strategic business planning and execution at several award-winning hotels. She most recently served as the general manager for the Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix. Prior to that, she held general manager positions at the Radisson Suites Tucson and Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Co. The Westin family is no stranger to Wiley as she also served as the resort manager at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Az. Wiley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.

James F. (Trey) Campbell has been named General Manager at Richmond Hill City Center

Kristin Kurie, President of the Charleston, SC-based The Wilderman Group announced the appointment of James F. (Trey) Campbell III as General Manager at Richmond Hill City Center, the popular 23,000 square-foot multi-use meeting and event facility in Georgia’s Coastal Region. Campbell, a resident of Richmond Hill, GA, recently served as Marketing Associate and Foodservice Consultant for Sysco, a FORTUNE 100 company. Richard R. Robbins has been appointed as General Manager at Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel

Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that Richard R. Robbins, Jr. has been appointed general manager of the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North hotel in Atlanta, Ga. Robbins has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North is managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is owned by Carey Watermark Investors, The Arden Group and Marcus Hotels & Resorts.Most recently, Robbins was general manager of the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront Resort & Spa in Melbourne, Fla. He began his career with Hyatt Hotels as an executive assistant manager at the Hyatt Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C., and later at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis, Ind. After leaving Hyatt, Robbins served as a managing director, director of operations, general manager and area general manager for other top management companies including Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Richfield Hospitality and HEI Hotels & Resorts.

Geir Kilen has been appointed as Executive Chef at Mansion on Forsyth Park

Chef Kilen joins 700 Drayton Restaurant from his most recent position as the executive chef of The Commerce Club in Atlanta, Ga., where he brought a “diverse, culinary fare” according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Kilen was also responsible for the opening of the Palm Beach Restaurant, a successful Caribbean-style restaurant in the Atlanta suburbs, which he owned and served as general manager and executive chef for three years. Additionally, Kilen has served as executive chef in several notable Atlanta, Ga. establishments including, The Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center Hotel, Bold American Food Company, Emory Conference Center Hotel and Marriot International. His portfolio boasts a number of awards and accolades including, a Silver Medal in the US Chefs Open in 1991, as well as achieving highest banquet-guest, comment card score of all Hilton hotels in the Continental US, beating world famous properties such as the Waldorf Astoria and Beverly Hilton. Before arriving in the United States, Chef Kilen received a culinary degree from The Culinary Institute in his hometown of Kristiansand, Norway, in addition to a certification in Business Management from Kristiansand Handels Skole.

Marc Suennemann has been appointed as Executive Chef at Sheraton Atlanta

Originally from Hamburg Germany, Suennemann began his culinary career in 1989 with apprenticeships in a series of five-star hotels, resorts, and restaurants throughout Germany and Switzerland. He eventually went on to the College of Gastronomy and Food in Hamburg, where he graduated in 1992. Suennemann was recruited to the Unites States in 1996 by Chateau Elan, a prestigious winery and resort located in North Georgia. There he assumed management responsibilities of the dining operations for the resort and conference facilities while gradually moving up the ranks to become Resort Executive Chef in 2004.

Senih Geray has been appointed as General Manager at St. Regis Atlanta

General Manager Senih Geray is a seasoned hotelier who most recently served as General Manager of The St. Regis Aspen Resort & Residences, where he successfully led that hotel for the past five and a half years. Mr. Geray has excellent experience with both the St. Regis Brand and luxury resorts. Previously Mr. Geray served as General Manager for the Sheraton Voyager Antalya Hotel, Resort & Spa in Turkey from 2002 to 2006, and worked at The St. Regis New York from 1994 to 2002 in various capacities ending as the Director of Finance. He started his career in the hospitality industry at the Sheraton Grande Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California in 1989.

Robert Brandenberg has been appointed as Food & Beverage Director at St. Regis Atlanta

With over 14 years of food and beverage experience at high-caliber properties across the globe, Mr. Brandenberg will oversee all food and beverage operations for the 151-room hotel, two on-site restaurants—Paces 88 American Bistro and Astor Court—as well as event catering. Mr. Brandenberg joins The St. Regis Atlanta from The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, where he served as Food & Beverage Director at the Luxury Collection Hotel. His impressive background boasts a range of internationally-celebrated hotels and restaurants including Le Méridien Jakarta, The Palace Hotel San Francisco, Core Club, The Peninsula New York, and Café Grey in New York.

Andrew Neubauer III has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation

After a ten-year hiatus, Neubauer is returning to The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC, where he held a variety of positions at several properties from 1992 to 2002. “We are thrilled that Andrew has returned to The Ritz-Carlton management team,” said Ralph Vick, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. “With a varied background in group and incentive sales as well as management, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our staff.”

Robert Lowe has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta

Mr. Lowe is a veteran hotelier with over 25 years of hospitality industry experience including 13 years with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. He joined Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing and later moved into Operations as Resident Manager in 2005. In 2007, he moved to Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC in the capacity of Resident Manager. Since 2010, Robert has held the position of Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, New York. Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Mr. Lowe held various management positions with Hyatt Hotels.A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mr. Lowe is bilingual in English and Spanish. He studied Hotel and Restaurant Management in the U.K. and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Slough Polytechnic in Berks, England.

Frank Holtslag has been appointed as General Manager at The Mansion on Forsyth Park, a Kessler Collection Property

Frank Holtslag originally from the Netherlands, attended Hotel Management College in Zwolle the Netherlands and began his career in Amsterdam in hospitality and hotel management with Hilton International. Within ten years, Holtslag opened three small boutique hotels in Amsterdam, which are still successfully operating today.

Jeffrey Barry has been appointed as Director of Sales at Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation

A seasoned sales executive, Barry was previously with the Sea Pines Resort and The Inn at Harbour Town – a luxury 60-room inn and 390 villas on a PGA golf course on Hilton Head Island – for 10 years, during which he headed the property’s sales team as senior national sales manager for three years. He was also with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for seven years, serving as both a sales manager and catering/convention services manager at Starwood’s 412-room Westin Resort, also on Hilton Head.

Rodney Gooden has been named Hotel Manager at the Marriott Norcross

Prior to his current promotion to hotel manager of the Marriott Norcross reporting to Frank Quallen, Gooden was the director of operations at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest. He joined HEI in December 2006 as the operations manager at the 224-room Marriott Fullerton at California State University. Prior to joining HEI, he was a general manager for DKN Hotels in Westwood, Calif.

Frank Quallen has been promoted to General Manager at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest and Marriott Norcross

Quallen joined HEI in 2004 as the general manager of the Marriott Norcross, where, under his leadership, the hotel achieved RevPAR Index for three straight years. Following the relocation of Don Cook to Minneapolis, Quallen was promoted to a newly created position, complex general manager, which adds oversight of the Atlanta Marriott Northwest to his general manager duties at the Marriott Norcross. Prior to HEI and the Marriott Norcross, Quallen was the director of food & beverage for the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown.

Sherrie Huebner has been appointed as Spa Director at the Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge

With more than 15 years of spa and wellness industry experience, Huebner was most recently director of spa services for the Natural Wellness USA, a retail, spa and movement space based in Arlington, Texas. Prior to that, she served as spa director for Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, Texas, and at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix. Additionally, she helped conceive, launch and operate the luxury spas at Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio and the St. Regis Hotel and Spa in Los Angeles.
