Sonesta Irvine (formerly Sonesta Irvine - Orange County Airport) today announced the completion of an extensive $20 million renovation to transform the guest experience. Thoughtfully redesigned for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel offers dramatically updated guest rooms, a modern lobby, expansive social spaces for meetings and events and an exciting new dining destination, Haven Point Provisions & Spirits.

265-key Populus Hotel opening Early 2024

Slated to open in Civic Center Park, Populus will be a 13-story hotel designed to serve as an architectural landmark in Denver. Architecture firm Studio Gang has been tasked to design the building's distinctive façade, which is inspired by the patterns found in Colorado's native Aspen tree, the Populus Tremuloides. Developed by Urban Villages, the 265-room property will be the first carbon-positive hotel in the U.S. The eco-conscious design plan includes a commitment to plant trees equivalent to over 5,000 acres of forest, offsetting a carbon footprint that equals nearly 500,000 gallons of gas and removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Aparium and Urban Villages to introduce 120-key Hotel Westland in Seattle, WA

Located in Pioneer Square, Hotel Westland will be the hotel group's first hotel in Seattle. A partnership with Urban Villages, the adaptive reuse of the historic Westland Building is expected to open in late 2023 with 120 guestrooms and suites, signature indoor and outdoor restaurant on activated "Railspur" alley, as well as a rooftop bar. Curioso, a hospitality interior design firm located in Chicago, is set to oversee the design.

Aparium Hotel Group to open Hotel Heron, Alexandria VA

A first-time partnership between Aparium, May Reigler Properties, and Potomac Investment Properties, Hotel Heron represents the transformation of the 1926 George Mason hotel building in Old Town of Alexandria, Virginia. Spearheaded by Washington D.C.-based architect, Antonovich Associates, and design firm, Street Sense, the hotel will include 134 rooms, 30,000 square feet of amenities, meeting space, ground floor flagship restaurant, and a rooftop bar. Project construction is underway, and the top-of-market hotel is slated for completion by late 2023.

A seasoned hospitality professional with 30 years of industry experience, Debra began her career on the opening team of a resort hotel in the Ventura Harbor as Sales Manager developing business travel and group opportunities in local and eastern U.S. market segments and achieved the role of Director of Sales & Marketing after two short years. Since then she has worked her way up the chain, taking on sales and marketing leadership roles at the Embassy Suites M andalay Beach Hotel & Resort, Residence Inn by Marriott at River Ridge, Bacara Resort & Spa and Hilton Woodland Hills/Los Angeles. Throughout her career, Debra has received various awards and recognitions including winning Sunstone's "Hotel of the Year" in 1999 for exceeding annual budget by $300K+ and being named Sunstone's "Director of Sales of the Year" in 2006, just to name a few.Now at the Kimpton Canary in Santa Barbara, Debra is responsible for directing and leading the Sales & Catering team to achieve budgeted top-line revenues, developing marketing initiatives and key relationships within the community to increase exposure, and overseeing market shifts to determine deployment/pricing recommendations.When not strategizing and leading the team to achieve the hotel's revenue goals, you can find Debra enjoying a glass of wine with friends or driving to the new foodie hot spot to enjoy a delicious meal.

As Sous Chef, David Gutierriez is Executive Restaurant Chef Nello Turco's right-hand man across the entire Hotel property's culinary operations. A graduate of the culinary arts program at Los Angeles Mission College, Gutierriez has more than 15 years of experience working in five-star resorts and Michelin-starred restaurants. His career has taken him around the world, including positions at Grand Hyatt DFW in Dallas, Texas; Three Blue Ducks in Sydney, Australia; and Nomi at Park Hyatt Chicago. He served as chef de partie at Grace in Chicago, Illinois, when the restaurant held its third Michelin star. Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, Gutierriez worked as Sous Chef under Chef Tristan Baker at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.

Zachary Bryant has been appointed as Pastry Chef at Four Seasons Hotel And Private Residences Nashville

As Pastry Chef, Zach Bryant is responsible for the entire pastry department and team at Four Seasons Hotel Nashville. Growing up in a culinary family - his mother worked for a baking company and his father and brothers were chefs in Philadelphia - Bryant knew he wanted to be a baker from an early age. His first job was at a bakery at the age of 16. Bryant earned a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of America. During his time at CIA, he worked at Apple Pie Bakery Café and the classic French-inspired Bocuse Restaurant, two of the student-run, faculty-led teaching restaurants affiliated with the school, and completed an internship at Orlando World Center Marriott in Florida. Following graduation, he worked as an assistant pastry chef at Talula's Table in Philadelphia for three years. He served as the pastry supervisor for Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, and pastry sous chef at Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. Most recently, he spent a year as the pastry chef of the Grand Hyatt Nashville.

As Bar Manager, Michael Geffin drives the beverage program of Four Seasons Hotel Nashville across all outlets. He earned a bachelor's degree in hospitality management from University of Central Florida and worked for Walt Disney World Resorts for three years before joining Four Seasons in 2017. He was part of the opening team of Four Seasons at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, where he earned recognition as Manager of the Year by Four Seasons in 2018 and Inn Key Manager of the Year by The Greater Miami and The Beaches Hotel Association in 2018. In 2021, Michael joined the team at Four Seasons Hotel Denver as Food and Beverage Assistant Manager to reopen the Hotel bar post-pandemic and add two new bars at the property.

As Restaurant General Manager, Molly Allen leads the line at Mimo Restaurant and Bar. She began her hospitality career with Four Seasons in Hawaii, at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina. During her year-long stint at the Resort, she led the launch of the wine program at the Hokulea coffee and wine bar and served as its manager. From there, her career took her all over the country with positions at various hotel brands, including Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Cedar Creek, Texas; Viceroy Snowmass Resort and Spa in Snowmass Village, Colorado; and The Farnam, Autograph Collection in Omaha, Nebraska. A native New Yorker, Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts from University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University.
