A graduate of Oregon's Linfield College with a B.A. in Business Management, Smith has spent nearly 15 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation. His hospitality career began as a Front Desk Host at Grand Hyatt Seattle, followed by promotions to Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager. Smith relocated to Park Hyatt Aviara to assume the role of Assistant Front Office manager and was quickly elevated to Front Office Manager and then Assistant Director of Rooms. Following, Smith opened Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas as Assistant Director of Rooms, before moving back to San Diego to serve as Director of Operations at Hyatt Regency La Jolla.

Matt De Guzman has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Mission Pacific Hotel, a JdV Hotel

A North County San Diego native, De Guzman started his hospitality career with Highpointe Hotel Corporation in New Orleans, serving as Manager on Duty at Hampton Inn and Suites. He then went to work for MGM Resorts International in the Rooms Division, holding key leadership roles at The Mansion at MGM Grand, The Signature at MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. On his return to Southern California, he worked as Director of Housekeeping at Los Angeles' iconic Chateau Marmont Hotel, followed by his most recent tenure as Assistant General Manager for MarBrisa, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

Ralph Grippo has been appointed as President at Terranea Resort

Tom Luersen, president of CoralTree Hospitality, today announced that Ralph Grippo has been named president of Terranea Resort, the company's premier oceanfront property in Southern California. Grippo brings more than 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry and deep knowledge of the Southern California market to the Terranea team. He is replacing Terri A. Director of Food & Beverage Gordon Fischmann brings nearly two decades of global culinary experience to his executive position where he will oversee all aspects of the hotel's culinary program, including Heirloom Farmhouse Kitchen, Hive & Honey Rooftop Bar, in-room dining, celebrations and special events, in addition to leading the curation of innovative new programs and produce-forward dishes. Prior to joining the Marriott Irvine Spectrum team, Fischmann held various positions overseas in Spain, Germany and Austria. Frederick began his hospitality career in 2007 in operations with independent hotel brands in Virginia before switching to sales in 2010. His first job with Hyatt was in 2014 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead as Sales Manager with a later promotion to Assistant Director of Sales. He continued at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in the same role before moving to the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego as Director of Group Sales, his most recent position prior to Andaz West Hollywood.

Julian Tucker has been appointed as General Manager at Andaz West Hollywood

Tucker is a 25-year Hyatt career veteran with extensive experience in the hospitality world. He started off his Hyatt career at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee in the security department and was promoted to Director of Security before becoming Executive Housekeeper. Tucker then took the role of Front Office Manager at the Hyatt Regency Chicago followed by serving in several department head roles at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in California. His next role was as the Director of Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center before spending six years in the Caribbean as Director of Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad and Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino. Prior to joining Andaz West Hollywood, he was the Director of Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs, FL. Tucker's community outreach affiliations include working with the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on a task force to bring more Black business opportunities to the area.
