Rebranding and Remodeling of The Fess Parker, now a Doubletree Resort

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and the Fess Parker family, announce the first phase of a complete renovation and rebrand of The Fess Parker, A Doubletree by Hilton Resort. Upon completion, the hotel will be known as Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. Active in the community, Harrison currently serves as Co-Chair of the Orange County Business Council and newly appointed member of the board of Children’s Hospital of Orange County. With more than 16 years of hospitality industry experience, San Martin most recently served as General Manager of Food & Beverage at The Maven Hotel including Kachina Southwestern Grill & Poka Lola Social Club, Sage Restaurant Group concepts that opened this spring adjacent to the Maven in Denver’s new Dairy Block mixed-use development. He previously was the General Manager of Food & Beverage at The Westin and first Kachina Southwestern Grill in Westminster. Originally from Ecuador, San Martin moved to the United States in 2001. He started his hospitality career in Chicago serving as restaurant manager at Nacional 27, a Lettuce Entertain You concept. He went on to open two restaurants for Chef Randy Zweiban in Chicago and Phoenix, where he opened as General Manager for restaurants at the Westin Phoenix Downtown and was the opening Assitant General Manager of Food and Beverage the Hotel Palomar, a Kimpton Hotel. Before moving to Denver to work with Sage hospitality San Martin served as the General Manager of Sepia in Chicago, a six-time Michelin Star recipient.

Daniel Zomerfeld joins the InterContinental San Francisco as the Director of Outlets, bringing 17 years of experience to the team. With a degree in business, a three-year hospitality apprenticeship at the Hotel Watthof, and two years in various roles with the four-star Hotel Hafen Hamburg, both in Germany, Daniel is well versed in front- and back-of-house management positions. Prior to joining the InterContinental San Francisco, he spent more than eight years at the Taj Campton Place Hotel in San Francisco, working in numerous roles from banquets to the hotel’s two-Michelin star restaurant. Greg Schmidt has been appointed as General Manager at AC Hotel San Francisco Airport/Oyster Point Waterfront

Greg’s hospitality career spans 25 years, beginning at the ripe age of 17, when he accepted his first job in the hotel industry as a waiter at the Courtyard by Marriott in Brentwood, TN. Since then, Greg has held positions at five brands under the Marriott umbrella, including The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and, most recently, the Residence Inn by Marriott in San Diego, where he served as General Manager. Greg is particularly excited to take on his role at the new waterfront AC Hotel at Oyster Point.Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from San Jose State University, and is a certified life coach through Marriott.
