Hilton Furthers Growth in Colombia with Signing of Hilton Bogota Corferias

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the signing of a management agreement with Corferias to operate a new build Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in the convention and exhibition center of Bogota, Colombia. Scheduled to open in 2018, the new 414-room Hilton Bogota Corferias will extend the company's presence in Colombia, where Hilton currently has a portfolio of 13 operating hotels and approximately 10 under development.

IHG Breaks Ground on Two New-Build Staybridge Suites® Hotels in Guanajuato, Mexico

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world's leading hotel companies, and the largest global hotel company in Mexico, today announces the groundbreaking on two new-build 120-room Staybridge Suites® hotels in the Mexican cities of Irapuato and Silao. Both properties will be operated by Grupo Presidente®, one of IHG's long-term partners in Mexico.The Staybridge Suites Irapuato hotel will be located eight miles north of downtown Irapuato along Federal Highway 45 and in close proximity to the Marabis Plaza, home to retail and food and beverage outlets. The Staybridge Suites Silao hotel will be situated in the Guanajuato Inland Port, the main business park in the Bajio region, and next to the Del Bajio International Airport. Both nine- story hotels will be located in the state of Guanajuato and are slated to open in late 2017.

Hilton Announces Signing of Nine Hotels in Mexico

STR: Caribbean/Mexico hotel pipeline for October 2016

STR's October 2016 Pipeline Report shows 32,056 rooms in 190 projects Under Contract in the Caribbean/Mexico region. The total represents a 14.3% increase in rooms Under Contract compared with October 2015.Under Contract data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Unconfirmed stage.The region reported 14,087 rooms in 90 projects In Construction for the month, which is a 15.6% increase in year-over-year comparisons. Among the region's key markets, Central Mexico (4,886 rooms in 37 hotels) reported the largest number of rooms In Construction, followed by the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico (2,387 rooms in 12 hotels).A note to editors: As of 1 March 2016, all references to STR data and analysis should cite "STR" as the source.
