InterContinental London - The O2, managed and operated by the Arora Group, has announced the appointment of Chris Rooney as Talent and Culture Manager. Chris joins the Greenwich-Peninsula based InterContinental London - The O2 from his previous role as People and Culture Manager for Primark in Westfield Stratford City, where he managed the HR function for approximately 650 employees.

Marcus Hotels' VP of HR Steve Martin has been named 2018 HR Award Winner at Milwaukee Business Journal

Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a nationally recognized hotel owner and management company, today announced that Steve Martin, vice president of human resources, has been recognized as a 2018 HR Award winner by the Milwaukee Business Journal. The prestigious award salutes southeastern Wisconsin's top HR practitioners who are making a difference in the human resources profession. Martin, who was recognized in the publicly held company category, is responsible for supporting and overseeing human resources issues and strategic initiatives for the company's entire hotel portfolio, which includes 21 hotels across the United States. An 18-year employee of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Martin was instrumental in re-imagining culture initiatives for the company and recently led the development of a new mission statement, "Serve People, Create Memories, Deliver Exceptional Experiences." Under Martin's leadership, the mission statement was integrated into all facets of hotel operations, and associates across multiple disciplines were reminded that simple customer service gestures make an extraordinary impact on guests. Martin also led efforts to improve the workplace environment for hotel associates through a variety of initiatives to include transforming associate break areas into "family rooms" where associates can dine in a special area that is focused on their enjoyment and relaxation during their shifts. Prior to joining The Marcus Corporation, Martin worked for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotels and Embassy Suites. Martin is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and holds its Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation as well as the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the HR Certification Institute. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant and institution management from Iowa State University.

Mohammad Sbeitani has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Ajman Hotel

A Canadian/Jordanian national, his hospitality career now spans more than 25 years; his last position was Human Resources Director with Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Dead Sea, Jordan.Prior to his last assignment, he worked with brands such as Kempinski, Movenpick, Taj Palace, and Radisson. He holds post graduate certificate in Human Resources Management in addition to his Master's Degree in Political Science.In this role, Sbeitani will partner with other department heads and he will lead and develop the HR strategy, programmes and oversee all aspects of hotel's human resources operations for almost 260 employees for Ajman Hotel.

Lynval Miller has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at The Heldrich

Lynval Miller brings 22 years of professional experience to his new position at The Heldrich. He was previously director of human resources for the Westminster Hotel of Livingston, New Jersey, while simultaneously serving as regional director of human resources for properties in New York City and Atlanta.During Super Storm Sandy, one of the worst natural disasters in New Jersey's history, Mr. Miller held the position of disaster case management coordinator for the State. In this role he was responsible as a contractor with FEMA to make sure the State's Disaster Relief Centers were adequately staffed with disaster case managers. He has also served as director of human resources for the Grand Summit Hotel located in Summit, New Jersey.Mr. Miller is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He has previously served as a New Jersey State Certified Firefighter. Lynval Miller resides in Mount Olive with his family.

Jon Muñoz has been named VP of global diversity and inclusion at Hilton

Hilton has named Jon Muñoz as VP of global diversity and inclusion. In his new role, Muñoz will oversee Hilton's global diversity management practice, focusing on developing culture, talent and marketplace strategies that cultivate inclusion. Muñoz joined Hilton in 2011 as senior director of diversity and inclusion. Prior to joining Hilton, Muñoz served in diversity roles for Sprint and multicultural marketing roles for Nextel Communications, Bank One (JPMorgan Chase), and NationsBank (Bank of America).
