Christel Artaud has been appointed as Human Resources Director at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya

Christel Artaud, director of human resources for the property, is a Four Seasons veteran of eight years. Artaud joined the company at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora in 2008 where she served for seven years as director of human resources. A French national, Artaud moved to Kuwait in April 2016 to take charge of the human resource function at the new property.

Leslie Lerude has been appointed as Senior Vice President, People & Culture at Kokua Hospitality LLC

Lerude began her career with Kimpton as a cook at Scala’s Bistro adjacent to the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. She took on various leadership roles in restaurant operations with Kimpton before transitioning into human resources, where she rose to become the company’s SVP of people and culture. She gained her HR expertise through roles overseeing talent management, learning and development, and employee relations. She most recently served as VP of people for Revolution Foods before joining the Kokua team.

Rebecca Unsworth has been appointed as HR and Training Culture Coach at Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites - Manchester Oxford Road

Cycas Hospitality, leaders in the extended stay hotel sector, has welcomed four senior team members to the new 328-room hotel at the Manchester Oxford Road Campus of The University of Manchester and Alliance Manchester Business School. Rebecca Unsworth joins from a Cluster HR Manager Role for Hilton Manchester Deansgate and Manchester Airport. Like her team members, Rebecca brings great local connections to her new role and has a passion for empowering others.

Dave Ricci has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Omni Frisco Hotel

As director of human resources, Dave Ricci joins the Omni Frisco Hotel from Omni Austin Hotel Downtown, where he served in the same capacity since 2013. Prior to joining the Omni brand, he served as area director of human resources for Destination Hotels & Resorts, responsible for The Driskill in Austin and Hotel Derek in Houston. Ricci earned a Bachelor of Science in human resources management and services from California State University-Long Beach. He is a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional.

Michael Deehan has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa

Deehan began his career with Marriott in 2004 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront in the front office and banquets departments before becoming a Performance Development Manager overseeing the Pacific Northwest region. He was most recently the Market Director of Human Resources for both the Seattle Marriott Redmond and the Seattle Marriott Waterfront.

Nicole L. Bonenfant has been promoted to Director of Human Resources at Halekulani

Halekulani, the luxurious Hawaiian hotel home to Oahu’s timeless legacy, is proud to announce new hires and promotions made in its Human Resources Department, effective immediately. With her incredible regard for customer and employee satisfaction, Halekulani has promoted Nicole L. Bonenfant to Director of Human Resources. In this new role, Ms. Bonenfant will be responsible for developing and administering Halekulani’s human resources policies, procedures and programs to reinforce the high standard of the company’s culture management, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation and organizational development. She will also act as the liaison for employment matters regarding Halekulani in collaboration with the Corporate Director of Human Resources. After having served in a number of other human resources roles since 1996 as Human Resources Assistant, Benefits Administrator and, her most recent position, Human Resources Manager, she is now working alongside her colleagues in the Human Resources Department, the Executive Committee and the hotel managers to further drive corporate awareness and maintain Halekulani’s excellent reputation in employee retention.

With 10 years of experience in the hotel industry, Marisa is responsible for developing and implementing Human Resources’ strategies to accomplish overall business objectives by effectively positioning the hotel in the market and reinforcing the Marriott brand. After graduating with a Master Degree in Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia, she began her hospitality career with a boutique hotel before pursuing her career working for international hotel chains. Her career with Marriott International started in 2010, where she was the Assistant Human Resources Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Patong Beach and continued her journey with other international hotel chains before re-joining Marriott International as the Director of Human Resources at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa. Most recently, she was appointed as the Director of Human Resources for the successful opening of Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach. Marisa’s role was crucial as she was tasked to strategize Human Resources’ standards of operating procedures, pre-opening team trainings and embodied Marriott cultures and core values to all associates of the hotel. Juanita Stallworth has been appointed as Vice President of Human Resources at Hotel Equities Group, LLC

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities recently named Juanita Stallworth as the Vice President of Human Resources for the firm with 100+ hotels in 22 states nationwide. Ms. Stallworth joined Hotel Equities from the Atlanta office of Samsung Electronics where she served as a Manager of Human Resources for the past two years. She held the top HR position at Samsung, a Fortune 100 provider of electronics, and partnered with the firm’s executive management to grow the business group through innovative human resources management. After beginning her career at EFL, Inc. in Chicago where she rose to serve as Vice President of Human Resources, she moved to Atlanta as Associate Development Supervisor/Human Resources for The Home Depot. Additional positions in Atlanta included Director of Human Resources for Papa John’s International and Regional Manager, Human Resources, RadioShack Corporation. Ms. Stallworth holds a B.A. degree in Communication Arts from Columbia College, Chicago, Illinois. In addition to holding several professional certifications, Ms. Stallworth is a member of the Society Human Resource Management and two professional affiliate organizations.

Kari Schlagheck has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Dream Holyywood

Appointed as Director of Human Resources, Kari Schlagheck brings with her 20 years of Human Resource Management experience in all areas of the field. Her background includes five years at RIM Hospitality as Director of Human Resources and Senior Manager of Associate Relations where she collaborated with Hotel General Managers from over 50 hotels in the group to implement training programs, recruitment, and performance appraisal. She also previously served as Human Resources Generalist at Maximum Petroleum DBA General Petroleum and in Human Resources Manager positions with Levy Restaurants, Hilton Hotels Corporation’s Hilton Suites – Orange/Anaheim and Embassy Suites – Anaheim South, and the Queen Mary Hotel and Attraction. Schlagheck is responsible for leading the Human Resources function for the pre-opening phase of the hotel and the ongoing HR functions through operations including recruitment of the opening team of 90 employees, and leading the on-boarding program for the team including a partnership with a trainer for a two-week in-depth guest services program based on emotional intelligence and focused to create the hotels culture.

Holly Lawson has been appointed as Corporate Director of People and Cculture at Pivot Hotels & Resorts

Reporting directly to Senior Vice President Albert Smith, Lawson will lead the human resources efforts for all Pivot hotels, providing a strong cultural bridge between both the Pivot and Davidson platforms and fostering greater collaboration, crossover and best practices amongst both teams.

Wanda Sanchez has been appointed as Corporate Director of Human Resources at Mainsail Lodging & Development LLC

As corporate director of human resources, Wanda Sanchez is also based in the corporate offices and will manage all human resource functions outside of training. Sanchez’s new responsibilities include developing and managing all human resources needs and providing support to general managers for each of the business units, as well as regularly visiting the properties to interact with associates and support the teams. With over 14 years of experience in HR and an eight-year veteran at Mainsail in the human resources department, Sanchez has guided the team through numerous events and transitions as the company has evolved through the years. Before joining Mainsail, Sanchez served as director of human resources for Embassy Suites Tampa Airport for seven-and-a-half years. She will be supported in day-to-day operations by Vanessa Sarafin, who has been added to the team as human resources coordinator.
