Marcelo Mendonca has been appointed as Talent and Culture Manager at Arora Group

The Arora Group has appointed Marcelo Mendonca as Talent and Culture Manager in a newly created role to drive recruitment, planning and activity at one of the UK’s largest private hotel owner operators. Marcelo will be responsible for working alongside the Arora Group’s senior management team to manage recruitment, succession planning and youth strategy activities including work experience, internships and graduate schemes.

Karen LaRue has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Stonewall Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Karen LaRue director of human resources for Stonewall Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Roanoke, West Virginia. André D’Amour, general manager, made the announcement. Karen LaRue comes to her new position with more than 15 years of progressive experience in human resources. Ms. LaRue brings a diverse Human Resources background to her new role, having held positions in the Hospitality, Manufacturing and Banking sectors. She was most recently a human resources consultant at the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Roanoke, Virginia.

Lila Hedlund has been appointed as VP of HR Operations at Concord Hospitality

Lila began her career in the hospitality industry with Marriott, opening several hotels while cross training in operations. Rebecca Lamson has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at The Essex – a Culinary Resort & Spa, a Gemstone Collection property

Vanessa Paul has been appointed as corporate director of human resources at Mainsail Lodging & Development LLC

Vanessa Paul returns to Mainsail Lodging & Development as corporate director of human resources. Paul served as human resources manager at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina shortly after its opening, and has more than 18 years of experience working in human resources. In her new role, Paul will be responsible for developing and managing all human resource and training aspects of the pre-opening and opening of newly constructed hotels within Mainsail’s portfolio. Paul has a post graduate diploma from the University of Westminster in London.

Luisa Marciano has been appointed as Vice President of Human Resources at Dream Hotel Group

In this role, Ms. Marciano will be responsible for developing, delivering and promoting best practices in human resource management for Dream Hotel Group and its portfolio of brands. She will oversee all human resources operations, including organizational development, talent management and development, employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, as well as executive HR analytics, at new and existing locations across all Dream Hotel Group’s brands – Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, The Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels.

Frederique Falour-Yalniz has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at San Francisco Proper Hotel

Falour‑Yalniz spent the last 12 years working in human resources departments at some of San Francisco’s most notable hotels. She has an extensive background in opening luxury lifestyle properties, including the 5-Star St. Regis San Francisco where she served as Assistant Director of Human Resources for six years. Following that, she served as Director of Human Resources for San Francisco’s iconic Palace Hotel.

Laura Davie has been appointed as Group Director, Operations and HR at Crystalbrook Collection

Laura has been appointed to progress Crystalbrook Collection to an employer of choice overseeing the full HR lifecycle as well as business operations. She brings with her a decade’s HR experience with strong experience in FMCG and luxury retail. Former HR manager at Hyatt Regency, Pune, Gupta is a proficient when it comes to managing professionals of the hospitality sector with a sturdy hand in improving talent and bringing out excellence. Gupta completed her graduation in 2006, with a degree in commerce from Kurukshetra University. Having been always a people’s person, she enrolled herself for an MBA degree in Human Resources and Marketing in 2009.

Morven Finlay has been appointed as Area Human Resources Manager at Dorsett Hospitality International

Based at Dorsett Shepherds Bush, Morven will primarily be responsible for overseeing full Human Resources and Administration of Dorsett Shepherds Bush and Dorsett City, London. Additionally, she will also provide support to the group’s UK London Office & Manchester team including talent resourcing, contract preparation, on boarding/exiting process and payroll processing. Morven reports directly to Hilary Cross, Area General Manager for Dorsett Shepherds Bush and Dorsett City, London. With the added responsibilities, Morven will also work closely with the group’s London Office and Far East Consortium International Office in Hong Kong. Morven has previously developed an extensive 13 years’ experience in Human Resources and Training in several industries; from retail to Food and Beverage and hospitality businesses. Her past portfolio included hotel groups such as Rocco Forte Hotels and Accor Group Hotels. She was most recently the Group Senior HR Manager for a reputable Food & Beverage establishment prior to coming on board with Dorsett Hospitality International.

Malaika Myers has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at Hyatt Hotels Corporation

Hyatt Hotels Corporation today announced it has named Malaika Myers as the company’s chief human resources officer. Myers will join Hyatt on September 5, 2017 and report to Mark Hoplamazian, president and chief executive officer. Myers assumes the role at Hyatt after serving in a similar capacity at Jarden Corporation and Arysta Life Science. Myers’ more than 25 year career also includes senior HR positions at Diageo and PepsiCo.

Emily Issa has been appointed as Human Resources Manager at Hili Rayhaan by Rotana

Emily Issa has been transferred to lead the Human Resources Department at Hili Rayhaan by Rotana hotel in May 2017. Coming from Syria, Emily joined Rotana as Paymaster at Afamia Rotana Resort, Syria on 01 November 2010. She later moved to the UAE in December 2011 where she joined Villa Rotana, Dubai as Human Resources Secretary. In October 2012, Emily got promoted to Human Resources Coordinator and in November 2013 she joined the pre-opening team of Hili Rayhaan by Rotana as Human Resources Officer and later as the Assistant Director of Human Resources at Al Ain Rotana in September 2015 before being promoted to her current position as Human Resources Manager.

Craig Simmons has been appointed as SVP and CHRO at Oakwood®

He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, his master’s degree from Georgetown University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
