Shingi Rukuni has been appointed as General Manager at Sonesta ES Suites Atlanta-Perimeter Center North

Today, Sonesta announced Shingi Rukuni as the General Manager of Sonesta ES Suites Atlanta-Perimeter Center North. In this role, Rukuni will be tasked with overseeing the daily operational activities of the property and its staff. Working across teams, she will be instrumental in maintaining employee engagement, driving revenue and profitability and ensuring that Sonesta ES Suites Atlanta-Perimeter Center North provides guests with more than just a place to stay. Rukuni is already a member of Sonesta family, most recently serving as the General Manager of Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte, where she trained and mentored team members, helping to propel them to be one of the top performing hotels in the brand. Rukuni has an extensive background in hotel management, previously holding management roles for The Generation Companies.

Jordan Barnett has been appointed as Executive Chef at The St. Regis Atlanta

Jordan has spent the majority of his career with The Ritz-Carlton, a luxury brand of hotels under Marriott International, which recently added St. Regis to its upscale portfolio. Chef Jordan’s epicurean journey began in 2005 when he joined the opening team at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman as an entry level cook in the banquet kitchen. Within only seven years, he attained the position of chef de cuisine at the property’s luxury steakhouse, Seven Restaurant, an achievement very difficult for chefs to accomplish. During his seven-year journey to sous chef, then to restaurant chef, and again to chef de cuisine, he achieved the Four Diamond Award in 2014 and 2015 and was nominated for the Marriott International Rising Star Award of Culinary Excellence and the Cayman Islands Tourism Association Restaurant Manager of the Year Stingray Award. During his tenure, he also received the “Best Food” designation at the Annual Taste of Cayman in 2012 and 2013, Cayman Island’s “Best Burger” from Flava magazine for his Bar Jack’s Caribbean Burger in 2012, and The Ritz-Carlton’s Leader of the Quarter Award in 2013.

Sheila Buciuman has been appointed as Director of Operations at The St. Regis Atlanta

Sheila has spent the majority of her career with The Ritz-Carlton, a luxury brand of hotels under Marriott International, which recently added St. Regis to its upscale portfolio. She began her career as a diamond receptionist at the world-renowned Waldorf Astoria, acting as a front office associate, as well as managing the day-to-day experiences of Hilton Honors Diamond members. In 2005, Sheila transitioned to south Florida, where she assumed the role of front office agent at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach and was promoted to assistant front office manager after a year. With her evident passion for customer service and strong leadership skills, she was once again offered a promotion, accepting the role of front office manager after only a year in the position. Two years later, she became the assistant director of housekeeping before moving north to Georgia and undertaking the position of director of housekeeping at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee.

Manuel Deisen has been appointed as General Manager at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center

Omni Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Manuel Deisen as General Manager of the hotel. Deisen joins the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center from the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, Ga., where he has been the property’s General Manager since 2012. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership positions at a number of Ritz-Carlton properties, including Florida’s Amelia Island, Orlando Grande Lakes, Golf Resort Naples, as well as Boston Common in Massachusetts, among others.

Michael Brophy has been promoted to Managing Director at HVS Atlanta

In this capacity, he has overseen or conducted nearly 1,000 appraisal and consulting assignments for limited-, select-, and full-service hotels, including convention center hotels across the U.S., island resort properties, and hotel portfolios containing worldwide assets.

Ramon Reyes has been appointed as General Manager at Omni Hotel At The Battery Atlanta

In his role, Reyes will lead the opening efforts of the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta and oversee all departments including operations, sales and marketing, rooms, risk management, human resources and food and beverage. Most recently, he served as general manager of the Omni Riverfront Hotel in New Orleans, where he transitioned the property into the Omni portfolio from another brand. In the hotel’s first full year under the Omni flag and under Reyes’ leadership, it achieved significant RevPAR growth. The property also improved its competitive set ranking to number one in the area.
