BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has appointed Trevina Height director of catering and conference services for Delta Hotels - Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property under construction in the city of Allen, Texas, north of Dallas. The full-service hotel and convention center is scheduled to open in January of 2019. Stacy T. Martin, managing director, made the announcement.

Denise Mope has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Crescent Court

Denise brings 18 years of hospitality-specific experience to Hotel Crescent Court with hotels and resorts throughout major metropolitan c ities such as Dallas, Chicago, Orlando and South Florida. In her new role, she will develop and implement marketing strategies and sales initiatives to generate revenue while stimulating business and operations efficiency for the Lone Star landmark. Most recently, Denise served as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Dallas Downtown, where she successfully opened the hotel and managed a team of 14. Prior, she showcased a strong history of financial achievement, perfecting her leadership skills in various positions including Director of Sales & Revenue at The Joule in Dallas, Reservations and Revenue Manager at The Fairmont Chicago Hotel and has served in various operations positions at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Fla. and Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes. As a result, she has a wealth of knowledge for the competitive landscape, along with key feeder markets.

Hotel Equities Opens TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Mesquite, Texas

Hotel Equities (HE) announced the official opening of the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott-Dallas/Mesquite. The all-suite hotel owned by Profound Hotel Group, LLC is located at 500 Rodeo Center Boulevard. HE was brought on board in the preliminary phases of the project to ensure the project's success. Matt Saumer serves as General Manager and Thyme Ford serves as Director of Sales for the hotel. Connor Reyer serves as Assistant General Manager.

Clifton Thiebaud has been promoted to General Manager at Dallas Marriott Las Colinas

Columbia Sussex, which owns and operates the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas has announced that Clifton Thiebaud, previously Director of Sales for the 364-room Marriott hotel on Lake Carolyn was recently appointed to General Manager. In his new role, he is responsible for 150 employees and the daily operation of all aspects of the hotel, as well as the multi-million-dollar renovation currently underway. Guest rooms have been completed, and the hotel's public and meeting space is slated for completion in the fall.

Chris Pilavakis has been appointed as General Manager at Renaissance Dallas Hotel

The Renaissance Dallas Hotel by Marriott announces it has appointed Chris Pilavakis as General Manager. Pilavakis brings more than 28 years of hotel management experience to the Renaissance Dallas Hotel, located downtown near Dallas Market Hall. Most recently, Pilavakis served as general manager of Dallas Marriott City Center. Prior to that position, he worked in Orlando where he held many leadership positions including General Manager at Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista, Resident Manager at Re naissance Orlando at SeaWorld, Director of Operations at Marriott's Grand Vista Vacation Ownership Resort, General Manager at Marriott's Harbour Lake Vacation Ownership Resort, Director of Operations at Marriott's Grande Vista Vacation Ownership Resort and Front Office Manager at Orlando World Center Marriott. An active member of the Dallas community, Pilavakis serves on the board for Visit Dallas and for the Hotel Association of North Texas.

Canopy by Hilton Unveils “First Look” of its Inaugural Property in Texas

Today, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton's (NYSE: HLT) lifestyle hotel brand, revealed the first look inside the brand's newest Texas property, Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown. Scheduled to open in late June 2018, Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown's 150 "Just Right" rooms will offer a modern hotel experience in Dallas' most walkable district featuring more than 100 shops, restaurants and entertainment. With Canopy by Hilton's emphasis on neighborhood offerings and thoughtfully local choices, Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown will tell the story of the Uptown district throughout the hotel including artwork, vintage bricks from McKinney Avenue and a refurbished piece of the M-Line Trolley.

Cory Randolph has been appointed as General Manager at NYLO Las Colinas

Cory Randolph has recently been appointed as the General Manager of NYLO Hotel Las Colinas, TX. An eighteen year veteran in the hospitality industry, Cory has specialized in the upscale boutique hotel arena in Miami FL before relocating to join NYLO Las Colinas. Cory began his career at Hotel Astor in Miami Beach, and quickly rose through the ranks holding positions as Front Office Manager, Sales Manager, Director of Rooms, and in 2007 selected as General Manager. After his 5 year venture with The Astor, Cory joined the pre-opening and opening team at The Standard, Miami as Reservation Manager. Most recently, Cory joined The Betsy - South Beach in 2009 as Director of Operations. During the 2009 opening of The Betsy, he was instrumental in setting procedures as well as emphasizing on the importance of company culture, and the growth of its associates. He then served as Betsy's Hotel Manager for 3 years, followed with the Acting General Manager position in 2017. Cory contributed much of his time over the last 3 years in transitioning the hotel's on property steakhouse, LT Steak & Seafood, as well as the purchase and redevelopment of the neighboring Carlton Hotel property to The Betsy, for increased venue space and room count.
