A new law that many of the affected people have never heard about becomes effective July 1, 2022. It all involves liquor licenses from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (“ABC”) and persons employed by such licensees to serve alcohol to patrons.

Meyer Jabara Hotels Offers Expert Advice on How to Better Manage Hotel F&B Amidst Today’s Labor & Supply Chain Shortages

As the hospitality industry continues to deal with the labor crisis, the surmounting lack of truckers is putting even more strain on hotel and restaurant operations. Fewer drivers means an increase in the price of goods and the cost of delivery. With people eager to travel again, hoteliers with food-and-beverage operations are asking “What can we do differently to run our f&b departments more efficiently?” Meyer Jabara Hotels, an industry leader in hotel food and beverage operations, says hoteliers can easily cut costs, maximize staffing, and emerge profitable in today’s challenged economy if they have the right strategy. The company has been boosting operating efficiencies of its 30 hotels and 20 food-and-beverage outlets, including 137,939 square feet of meeting and event space, for 47 years.

James Beard Foundation Releases Winter 2021 Survey Results on Health of the Restaurant Industry This Season

The James Beard Foundation unveils results from its Winter 2021 Survey, which polled their network of chefs and restaurant owners on the health of their business and the top challenges the restaurant industry is facing this winter. The survey also explores chefs and restaurateurs’ thoughts regarding how their businesses could survive the winter season amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimate findings show that restaurants face a precarious future heading into the winter season. While many restaurants are more confident in their business’s survivability than they were in 2020, independent restaurants nationwide are still at risk of closing.

Epicurean Ventures For The Travel Recovery

We’ve always espoused the mantra that the core of any property’s success is their F&B. Some golf, some are into wellness, but everyone eats. As demonstrated by a property we acted on as asset manager a few year’s ago, a property can even overcome deficiencies in their rooms’ product through a focus on exceptional dining.

America's Great Restaurant Rebound

The pandemic has hit America’s food and beverage industry hard, with restaurants and cafes bearing the full brunt of social gathering restrictions. Many were forced to offer takeaway only during the lockdowns. When they reopened, they had to adhere to capacity restrictions. While some were able to endure the difficult period by securing funds through the Paycheck Protection Program, other establishments were not so lucky and closed permanently. It is clear, however, that Americans are eager to return to their favorite restaurants and bars, and the sector is poised to make a formidable comeback this summer. The U.S. restaurant industry continues to evolve and innovate, and there are several important trends to keep an eye on.
