49 Apprentices Graduate from Four Seasons Maldives Hospitality Program in its 23rd Year

23 years ago Regional VP and GM Armando Kraenzlin of Four Seasons Resorts Maldives created a Hospitality Apprenticeship program for local Maldivians. It’s the longest-running and most successful of its kind in the Indian Ocean, with 858 graduates since its inception in 2001. Back then, Armando often paddled between islands seeking talented young people for his new “school” where they could learn the art of hospitality under his tutelage. Now there are many more applicants than spaces available.

Accor Greater China, together with Changzhou High-Speed Railway Town and Changzhou High-Tech Group Co., Ltd., has announced the signing of a multiple property hospitality project in the fast-growing community of Changzhou High Speed Rail New Town. Sofitel Changzhou will bring a French luxury experience, complemented by Novotel Changzhou and a Novotel Living Changzhou extended stay hotel. (“Kiraku”) today announced that ATONA, the modern hot spring ryokan (Japanese-style inn) brand, will open properties in Yufu, Yakushima, and Hakone. The ATONA brand was announced in 2022 under a joint venture between a Hyatt affiliate and Kiraku, a Japanese company dedicated to preserving valuable assets for future generations.
