Following a multimillion-dollar, eight-month renovation, DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Midway Airport opens today as Hilton's closest full-service hotel to the nearby international airport. The 146-room hotel, located on the site of the former Cracker Jack factory, is part of the Midway Hotel Center-Weglarz Hotel Collection, owned by The Weglarz Company and managed by White Lodging.
Hall will serve as a member of JLL's Global HR Leadership Team and the Americas Executive Committee - working closely with Americas CEO Greg O'Brien - and will head the Americas HR Leadership Team. Joining from the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies where he served as CHRO, Hall will relocate from Salt Lake City to Chicago. Hall began his career with the U.S. Army and then worked in a variety of industries and roles at organizations including the International Paper Company, Cargill, Ulteig and Flowserve Corporation. Hall brings broad experience in talent management, diversity and inclusion, leadership development and coaching, executive compensation and succession planning - both in the U.S. and abroad. Hall earned a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners acquired The Homestead at 625 Hinman Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The eight-story, 91-key hotel will run independently as The Homestead prior to and during renovations, which will begin in early 2020. Once completed in fall 2020, the hotel will debut as part of the Graduate Hotels® collection.
Rosewood Hotel Group's Chief Information Officer, Micah Friedman, joins Hospitality Technology Next Generation's (HTNG's) Board of Governors, the direction-setting body of the organization. Bringing over thirty years of hospitality and technology experience, Micah leads the global IT organization of Rosewood Hotel Group and work with the company's leaders to craft and drive a digital business transformation that will create better experiences for guests, associates, management and owners. Most recently, Micah led travel and hospitality management consulting for Cognizant Technology Solutions and previously oversaw Oracle Corporation's hospitality industry business unit. In addition to Micah's extensive experience in the hospitality technology industry, Micah has been engaged with HTNG for about 15 years, including his service as a former workgroup member, workgroup leader, Co-chair on HTNG's Vendor Advisory Council, event speaker and evangelist. BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Melissa Bolster catering and conference services manager for World of Whirlpool, in Chicago. Ms. Bolster's new position represents a promotion for her. Ken Jesina, Benchmark's general manager at World of Whirlpool, made the announcement. Melissa Bolster joined the World of Whirlpool planning team as a Catering and Conference Services Planner two years ago, coming from The Walt Disney World Resort where she was Catering Guest Experience Manager. She previously held multiple roles with White Lodging in Chicago.Ms. Bolster has a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt University and is currently working on her CMP designation.
