Open: The Axis Hotel and Fifth Avenue Syndicate Bistro & Bar in Downtown Moline

The Axis Hotel Moline, Tapestry Collection by Hilton has opened as Heart of America Group's newest upscale hotel with signature onsite restaurant the Fifth Avenue Syndicate Bistro & Bar in the historic Fifth Avenue building in downtown Moline, Illinois. The Axis Hotel is part of Tapestry Collection by Hilton and is only the second Tapestry Collection hotel in Illinois. The boutique hotel and historic art deco landmark was named for the location's prominence on Fifth Avenue and 17th Street. When the Fifth Avenue building was originally constructed in 1929, the location was known as the main axis of Moline, connecting business, leisure and transportation.

Tonya Scott has been appointed as General Manager at Pheasant Run Resort

Tonya Scott, CHA, has been named general manager of the Pheasant Run Resort, managed by Hostmark Hospitality Group. In her role, Scott oversees the daily operations and sales and marketing of the 293-room resort set among 250 acres overlooking the Fox River Valley in St. Charles, Illinois. The property includes more than 80,000 square feet of indoor event space, as well as a 38,000 square foot Expo Center, an 18-hole championship golf course, five restaurants, a theater, and a comedy club.

AJ Capital Partners Acquires The Homestead In Evanston, Illinois

Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners announced today that it has acquired The Homestead in Evanston, Illinois. The eight-story, 91-key neighborhood hotel will run independently as The Homestead prior to and during renovations, which will begin in early 2020. Once completed in fall 2020, the hotel will debut as part of the Graduate Hotels® collection. 

Melissa Bolster has been named Catering and Conference Services Manager at World of Whirlpool

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Melissa Bolster catering and conference services manager for World of Whirlpool, in Chicago. Ms. Bolster's new position represents a promotion for her. Ken Jesina, Benchmark's general manager at World of Whirlpool, made the announcement. Melissa Bolster joined the World of Whirlpool planning team as a Catering and Conference Services Planner two years ago, coming from The Walt Disney World Resort where she was Catering Guest Experience Manager. She previously held multiple roles with White Lodging in Chicago.Ms. Bolster has a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt University and is currently working on her CMP designation. She resides in Bloomingdale, Illinois.
