Extended Stay America celebrated today's official groundbreaking of the Extended Stay America Premier Suites Duncan property located in Duncan, South Carolina. The franchised property is being developed and managed by VMV Capital and is located off I-85 in Spartanburg County between Greenville and Spartanburg. The four-story, 88-room Extended Stay America Premier Suites will feature complimentary Wi-Fi, a free healthy breakfast, premium cable, a fitness room, onsite guest laundry, and our signature spacious lobby with additional vending options. In addition, the rooms include fully equipped kitchens with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, cookware, utensils, and dishes, as well as pillowtop beds, recliners, and a spacious workspace.

Driftwood Capital Breaks Ground on Oceanfront Element by Westin® Hotel in Melbourne, Fla.

Driftwood Capital (Driftwood), a vertically integrated commercial real estate firm providing superior risk-adjusted returns in hospitality, is pleased to announce it has broken ground on the Element by Westin®, a new 130-key extended-stay hotel located on prime oceanfront property in Melbourne, Fla., one of the beach towns along Florida's popular "Space Coast." The property is being built on the 2.56-acre site of a former parking lot located at 2605 N. Highway A1A in Melbourne, Fla., adjacent to The Crowne Plaza Melbourne, another property owned and operated by Driftwood Capital. It is the first Marriott-branded hotel in Melbourne Beach.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Breaks Ground on New Property in Reno

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' Luxury & Lifestyle Collection, joined CAI Investments, key stakeholders and local officials on Friday, May 13 for a ceremonial groundbreaking event to mark the progress on its new hotel in Reno, Nevada. When it opens in late 2024, the new Kimpton in Reno will become the first newly constructed non-gaming hotel built in the city. With a prime location in the heart of Downtown and across the street from the Truckee River and Wingfield Park, the hotel will become a beacon for boutique hospitality in the "Biggest Little City in the World."

The 130-room select-service hotel is set to anchor the highly anticipated mixed-use development, The National - a revival and redevelopment of Gainesville's long-vacant First National Bank building, whi ch also broke ground during the event. Both the hotel and The National are anticipated to open in mid-2023.

R.D. Olson Construction Breaks Ground on Talus La Quinta in Coachella Valley, California

R.D. Olson Construction, an award-winning general contracting firm in California, today announced that construction is underway on TALUS La Quinta, a luxury resort in Coachella Valley being developed by The Robert Green Company. Upon completion, TALUS will include hotels from two notable brands, along with a conference center, golf clubhouse and spa facility. The 134-room luxury hotel and a 200-room lifestyle hotel will sit in addition to 29 branded single-family homes and 55 condominiums.

Cambria Hotels Continues to Grow Austin, Texas Presence with Groundbreaking

Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), continues to rapidly expand around the country with the official start of construction on the Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown in Austin, Texas. The 14-story, 212-room hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2023, joining other properties in the state capital that are anticipated to open this year, including the Cambria Hotel Austin Airport and Cambria Hotel North Austin Near The Domain. The brand currently has six open hotels across the state located in Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Plano, Richardson and Southlake. Representatives from Choice Hotels, developer Stratus Development Partners, and local dignitaries attended the groundbreaking to commemorate the occasion.

Omni Hotels & Resorts announced today it broke ground on Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, a 330-guest-room hotel, set to open in 2023, in the heart of downtown Tempe on the Arizona State University (ASU) campus. Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotel & Resorts, broke ground alongside Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, as well as ASU President Michael Crow, Regent Bill Ridenour and John Creer, vice president of real estate at ASU, and other notable guests.
