Aimbridge Hospitality Achieves WELL Health-Safety Rating at Hotels Across North America

The global leader in third-party hotel management has achieved the WELL Health-Safety Rating at nearly 100 North American hotels, with 200 additional properties enrolled(PLANO, Texas - January 25, 2021) - Aimbridge Hospitality, the leading, global, third-party hotel management company, has earned the WELL Health-Safety Rating for Facility Operations and Maintenance at an initial 96 hotels across North America. The company has enrolled an additional 209 hotels to pursue the rating, bringing t he total number of its properties in the program to 305 initially, with the goal to grow the number of enrolled hotels in the very near future.

Healthcare costs have ballooned over the past 50 years, with US health care costs taking up a 17.1 percent share of the US Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Today, Healthcare in the US is about a $3.4 Trillion industry. Health Movement Leads To Growth In Hotel Spas

In 2007, CBRE introduced Trends® in the Hotel Spa Industry in response to the spa industry's rapid expansion within hotels and resorts and its relevance to hotels' bottom lines. For the second time in the history of the publication, spa revenue increased at a higher rate than rooms revenue and total operating revenue. During 2018, the 159 hotels in our survey sample of achieved a 3.7 percent growth in RevPAR, which led to a 3.8 percent rise in total operating revenue. Concurrently, spa department revenue increased by 4.8 percent. With RevPAR forecast to increase less than 1.5 percent through 2021, the Spa Department represents an opportunity for hotel owners. Wellness is a growing desire in the minds of guests, and hotels can capitalize on this trend.

U.S. Hotel Spas - A Great Source of Revenue

In 2015, hotel spa department revenue grew at a faster pace compared to other sources of hotel revenue. According to the recently released 2016 edition of Trends® in the Hotel Spa Industry, U.S. hotel spa departments were able to increase their revenue by 5.6 percent from 2014 to 2015. This compares favorably to a 3.3 percent rise in rooms revenue for the properties in the survey sample, and a 5.5 percent increase in total hotel revenue. This is the first time since the 2007 edition of the publication that spa revenue growth surpassed rooms revenue growth.
