Marriott Opens Second Four Points by Sheraton in Tanzania

Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) today announced the opening of its second Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Tanzania, Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam, New Africa Hotel. The original New Africa Hotel was built as the official residence of Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1896. It was used as a hospital during World War I before being converted into a hotel during the British Empire. Sitting at the heart of the central business district of the city, overlooking the Harbor the hotel has since emerged as a landmark and an integral part of the burgeoning city. With the renovation and the rebrand the hotel continues to retain its unique charm, while delivering on the brand's promise to provide what matters most to today's independent travelers.

Canopy by Hilton Set to Debut in Africa

Hilton (NYSE:HLT) (www.Hilton.com)  announced the signing of a management agreement with Growthpoint Properties, South Africa's largest REIT, to open a hotel under its lifestyle Canopy by Hilton brand. The 150 guestroom Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof is expected to begin welcoming guests in 2021 and will be the brand's debut property in Africa.

Marriott International announces the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Setif in Algeria

Marriott International (www.Marriott.com) announced the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Setif in Algeria (Four-Points.Marriott.com), in partnership with Prombati SPA owned by Mr. Rachid Khenfri. With 191 rooms the hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of the city, providing easy access to Setif's new tram line and Setif International Airport just 20 minutes' drive away. The modern hotel towers high above the city and is situated in one of the most desirable areas in Setif which is steeped in history and surrounded by national landmarks dating back to the Berber Kingdom and the Roman Empire.

TUI Group expands its portfolio of owned hotels in Cape Verde

TUI Group is set to expand its portfolio of owned hotels in the Cape Verde Islands with the addition of a new resort. The first TUI Magic Life club in the island state off the west coast of Africa will be developed in the island of Boa Vista. The extensive resort is located directly on the Praia de Chaves beach and will feature 575 rooms. It is scheduled to open in the 2021/22 Winter season. TUI's portfolio in Cape Verde will thus grow to seven owned hotels. Apart from five Riu hotels, the first Robinson Club is currently being built in the island of Sal. The travel brand also operates the TUI Sensimar Cabo Verde Resort & Spa concept hotel in the island.

New Residence Inn by Marriott coming to Accra, Ghana in 2023

The Residence Inn by Marriott Accra Kotoka Airport, will mark the debut of the extended-stay brand in the country. Projected to open in 2023, the 12-story hotel will have 160 suites with separate living, working and sleeping zones, all equipped with fully functional kitchens. Other facilities in the hotel will include three food and beverage outlets, including a rooftop bar, a health and leisure club and a boardroom. 

Dubai-Based Aleph Hospitality Signs Deal with Marriott International to Manage the First Four Points by Sheraton in Liberia

Pioneering Dubai-based hospitality management company, Aleph Hospitality, today announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Marriott International for the first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Liberia. Located in the capital city, Monrovia, the hotel is due to become the first internationally branded hotel in the country upon opening in 2020 and will be managed by Aleph Hospitality under the Four Points by Sheraton brand.
