Glion Institute of Higher Education is launching a new Master of Science in International Hospitality Finance starting January 2013. The 1-year program follows current trends in higher hybrid learning which offers six months of on-campus courses and another six months of online courses. The maximum enrollment for this new program is 30 students for the first intake in January 2013.
As of September 2012, the brand new Preparatory Year will provide students with an even deeper immersion in all hospitality related activities, setting a new and improved standard in the acquisition of professional competencies.
This LipDub took place at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland) on May 8th 2012. More than 650 students, teachers and staff members were involved. IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world's leading hotel companies with brands such as Holiday Inn,todayannounced it is creating nearly 3,000¹ new jobs across its 275 UK hotels over the next three years, including over 1,100² new jobs this year. IHG also announced the launch of its newest hospitality training Academy in London.The announcement was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who attended the launch of the IHG Academy programme at the soon to open Holiday Inn London Stratford City.
Arco Buijs, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, is to leave the company by mutual consent. The differing strategic views with regard to future development held by Arco Buijs and the Supervisory Board mean that his contract will not be extended when it falls due for renewal in the middle of the year. Buijs will leave the company at the end of February 2012.

On 4 June 2010, Ruud J. Reuland, the departing Director of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), passed on the torch to Michel Rochat, the former General Director of Higher Education for the Canton of Vaud. After eight years spent at the helm of EHL, Ruud J. Reuland is leaving the School and hopes to take a few weeks of sabbatical leave to be spent with his family before becoming involved with new projects and challenges. Michel Rochat is looking forward to taking over the reins of the oldest hotel school and reinforcing its position of leadership on an international level.
