Accor Unveils Swissôtel's Arrival in Poiana Brasov, Romania

Accor, a world leading hospitality group, announces the upcoming inauguration of a new Swissôtel in Poiana Brasov, Romania's premier ski resort and a top leisure and MICE destination. Set to open its doors in March 2024, the property represents a new venture for Accor and Swissôtel in partnership with Neagoe Basarab Residences S.R.L., a distinguished local real estate developer. The hotel will be operated through a franchise agreement spanning over 20 years.

Scandic extends Scandic’s presence in Nuremberg, Germany

Scandic has signed a long-term, revenue-based lease agreement with landlord Pandox to take over a hotel in Nuremberg, Germany, during the first quarter 2024. Strategically located near the city's historic district and central station, the new hotel will offer 311 rooms and event facilities for up to 850 people. Shared spaces will include a restaurant, a bar, a gym and a wellness area. Pandox recently carried out a major renovation of the hotel, which reopened in 2023.

Scandic to rebrand hotel in central Helsinki

Scandic Hotels has signed a long-term agreement with landlord Exilion to extend the agreement and rebrand the Holiday Inn City Centre in downtown Helsinki. Since acquiring Restel in 2017, Scandic has operated the hotel under a lease agreement with Exilion and a franchise agreement with IHG. From 2025, the hotel will be operated under the Scandic brand.

LXR Hotels & Resorts Set to Make Grand Debut in Italy

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced plans to open Italy's first LXR Hotels & Resorts property, following a franchise agreement with Paval Holding and Apex Alliance. With a stunning lakeside location, the Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda, LXR Hotels & Resorts is set to open in 2026 following a multimillion Euro renovation, elevating the hotel's interiors while preserving the grand façade. The hotel is owned by the Lithuanian group Apex Alliance and Romanian Pavăl Holding and will be managed by Apex Alliance Hotel Management.

New Mercure Flagship Property Opening In Zurich, Switzerland

Accor and the German multi-brand hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group are expanding the Mercure portfolio in Switzerland. For the two partners, this is already the seventh joint project, with two more in the planning stages. With the opening and takeover of operations of the Mercure Zurich City scheduled for November 1, 2023, The Chocolate on the Pillow Group is also expanding into Switzerland for the first time. Located centrally in the "Vulcano," built in 2018 and an architectural highlight and urban landmark in the emerging Altstetten district, the hotel will undergo extensive modernization measures as part of the rebranding.
