Hilton Columbus Downtown, owned by the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority and managed by Hilton Management Services, broke ground on a 28-story tower to create the first 1,000-room convention hotel in Columbus. Together with the existing Hilton, the hotel will offer 75,000 square feet of meeting space and will be the largest hotel in Ohio when it opens in 2022.
Briad Lodging Group, the hotel division of Livingston, N.J.-based The Briad Group, broke ground on a 125-room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Edison, N.J., this week. Briad owns and will manage the Homewood Suites by Hilton Edison, slated to open in early 2021.
Courtyard by Marriott celebrated the groundbreaking of Courtyard Hamilton on Wednesday, August 7th. Located at 530 State Highway 130, the hotel will provide guests with easy access to Trenton and Princeton and will be within an hour of New York City and Philadelphia. Today, Hotel Equities and Horizon North Logistics Inc. (Horizon North) announced they broke ground on a fully-modular Fairfield by Marriott in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. The 120-room hotel is phase II of an entirely modular-built, mixed-use community development by owners, Horizon North. Hotel Equities has been selected as the managing partner to operate the new hotel. The anticipated opening date is Q1 2020.

The seven-story, four-star property will be called "The Landing Hotel Pittsburgh" and will include 219 guest rooms.
