My Place Fans Will Soon Have a Hotel in Arizona

Following the brand's recent 36-hour tour which included three groundbreakings in three new states, My Place Hotels of America is thrilled to announce Avondale will soon be home to Arizona's first My Place Hotel. Avondale City Officials, General Contractor Haydon Building Corp, and a host of community members and leaders gathered alongside hotel owners and My Place Hotels executives to celebrate the groundbreaking of the 32,000-square-foot project.

Beachfront Cambria Hotel Breaks Ground In Fort Lauderdale

Construction has begun on the Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach, franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) and developed by Hotel Motel Inc. The hotel will be within short walking distance to public North Beach access when it opens in 2020. This is Cambria Hotels' second hotel in the city, joining the Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport South & Cruise Port.

Virgin Hotels New Orleans Breaks Ground

Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel brand by Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson, marks a new milestone as Virgin Hotels breaks ground with The Buccini/Pollin Group on Virgin Hotels New Orleans. Today's groundbreaking ceremony marks Virgin Hotels' seventh property, behind the current locations open in Chicago and San Francisco, the soon-to-open Virgin Hotels Dallas, and under construction Virgin Hotels Nashville, Virgin Hotels New York, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and Virgin Hotels Edinburgh. Virgin Hotels New Orleans is slated to open its doors in 2021.

Birchington to Break Ground on 247-Room Holiday Inn Express in Washington, DC’s Mount Vernon Triangle Neighborhood

A 247-room Holiday Inn Express hotel will break ground this month in Washington, DC's Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. Birchington LLC, owned by Habte Sequar, closed on a construction loan from Atlanta-based Stonehill Strategic Capital to commence construction on the $93 million project.

The Kessler Collection Officially Breaks Ground on Grand Bohemian Hotel Greenville

The Kessler Collection, a portfolio of nine passionately created and artistically inspired boutique hotels and restaurants, officially broke ground on the highly anticipated Grand Bohemian Hotel Greenville. During the groundbreaking ceremony, local dignitaries including Mayor Knox White and interim city manager and director of economic development, Nancy Whitworth, and key executives from The Kessler Collection recognized the dedication and vision for the project. Key development partners area vice president of full service franchise of Marriott International, Richard Veilleux, vice president of Hunt Construction, Jeff Clemens, and design principal of Sottile & Sottile and former dean of the School of Building Arts at SCAD, Christian Sottile, were also in attendance.

R.D. Olson Construction, an award-winning general contracting firm in California, today announced the ground-up construction of AC Hotel Wailea, a 70,000-square-foot, four-story estate hotel located on the southside of Maui County in Wailea. Situated on a three-acre lot, the 110-room hotel will include one-bedroom suites and studio options, a business center, fitness area and infinity-edge pool complete with a poolside tiki bar and cabanas.

Slated to open in late 2020, the seven-story waterfront hotel will be the first Hyatt-branded property in Prince George's County, Maryland. It's the latest hospitality addition to National Harbor, a 350-acre destination on the banks of the Potomac River with a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities.

RAR Hospitality to Debut The Monsaraz, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Southern California based RAR Hospitality, a full-spectrum hospitality management firm, has recently broken ground on the first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in San Diego, The Monsaraz - set to open in summer 2020. Tapestry Collection by Hilton added 14 hotels to its portfolio of modern, stylish hotels in 2018 and has another 45 in its global pipeline (as of Q4 2018), including eight additional California properties. The development is a partnership with local development firm Alliance Development, who brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Hyatt Announces Hyatt Centric Brand Growth in the U.S. with New Hotel Planned for Memphis

The 227-room Hyatt Centric Beale Street will be developed through a joint venture between affiliates of Hyatt and Carlisle Hotels, Inc. The hotel will be developed within Carlisle's One Beale Street mixed-use project, to be located at the intersection of Beale Street and Front Street, just one block east of the Mississippi River and Riverside Drive. In addition to 227 guestrooms, Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis will feature a rooftop lounge, offering breathtaking views of the city's skyline and Mississippi River, as well as a ground floor lobby containing the hotel restaurant, bar and fitness center. Just off the lobby, guests will also enjoy an open-air courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool and fire pit, plus more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space located on the other side of the courtyard within the historic Wm. C. Ellis & Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop. Hotel construction is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2019, with an anticipated opening date by the end of 2020. Local Memphis design house, HBG Design, has been engaged for the hotel project.

Hyatt Announces Hyatt Centric Brand Growth in the U.S. with New Hotel Planned for Nashville

Hyatt announced a joint venture with C. B. Ragland of Nashville to develop Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville, a 252-room new build with a restaurant, bar, amenity deck with a rooftop pool, 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space and 4,000 square feet of leasable retail space. Expected to open in Q2 2021, the hotel will be managed by Hyatt. Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville will be located within the entertainment district of Music City, one block from Ascend Amphitheater, three blocks south of the city's famed lower Broadway and four blocks from Bridgestone Arena and Nissan Stadium. Adventurous guests will be within walking distance of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Ryman Auditorium.

Canopy by Hilton Says Hello to Portland, Maine

Fathom Companies and Hilton's (NYSE:HLT) lifestyle brand Canopy by Hilton today announced opening plans for Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront, slated for spring 2021. Located on the corner of Center and Commercial Streets in Portland, Maine's Old Port neighborhood, the 135-room hotel will be situated on one of the last remaining buildable lots. The property will also be home to an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking Casco Bay, a first for the New England coastal city.

Chartwell Hospitality Breaks Ground on SpringHill Suites at McEwen Northside Near Downtown Franklin, Tennessee

Chartwell Hospitality LLC, an integrated hotel operations and development company, announced the groundbreaking of the 150-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Franklin's Cool Springs neighborhood. The property is the hotel component of McEwen Northside, a thoughtfully planned walkable mixed-use project to include retail offerings, office space and multi-family residences. Construction on the all-suite hotel is expected to be completed by spring 2020.
